City By the Way…

onMy cat crept back in my bedroom window at 4 am after 13 days on his own, all skin and bones and smelling of eau-d’-underside-of-car, but very cuddly and psyched about the radiators. Thanks to everybody who sent me tips and good wishes. You guys are sweet—at least when the life of a kitty cat is at stake.

I love a happy ending!
And after you're done loving kitty and fatteneing him up, he needs a good scolding for scaring the crap out of you...
woot!
Excellent news! That your kitty did not become coyote food is a minor miracle.
i was wondering about this the other day. thanks for the update. now get him a collar and a microchip!
Awesome!
Hooray! A happy, albeit stinky and dirty, ending.
Welcome home, kitty!!!
Yayyyy, lucky kitteh. :) He needs a bath now.
Yay!
I was kinda hoping he got hit.
Then we would have seen a whole scree of irrational anti-car bullshit.
Those are fun comment threads
Congrats! And Ecce, do something productive for a change and kill yourself.
Pictures please! We can start a OMGcat trend.
Congratulations! I'm thankful. I'm sure he's happy to be home, too.
He went on walkabout, eh? Don't you wish you knew what he was up to all that time?
Glad that you got him back...
So glad to hear! Don't let him out anymore!!!
oh, annie, that is the best news i've heard all day. i'm almost crying! please please don't let kitty go outside again. it's just too dangerous out there for our furbabies on Cap Hill. yes, let's have an OMGcat thread, please.
Yippee!! But I bet he was out on a drugged induced party session. Test the cat for crystal meth.
maybe you should keep your window closed so we won't be subjected to future my kitty has gone missing stories.
I'm hoping you don't live on the ground floor or you have bars on your windows, 'cause you just told the whole world you sleep with an open window!!
Yikes.
CONGRATS!
Huzzah, kitty!
The cat came back! We thought he was a goner!
YAY!!! :D
Make him a lolcat to commemorate the event. :)
I can haz cheezburger now?
Yay, Antoine! I saw the fliers and crossed my fingers for you two. Happy endings are lovely.
Fantastic!
YAY!!! I'm so happy. Sometime cats need to go out and make it on their own. Yay for tough kitties.
Prrrrrrrr.....
I am really happy for you and your cat, Annie. Thank you for following my advice and leaving your window open - because as I mentioned, your cat would come home when he felt it was safe, most probably in the middle of the night. If you live in a space where it would be practical, you might think about building and indoor/outdoor enclosure for him. That's what I did for my Pete and Sam. They can go in and out, but they can't roam.
best thing I've heard all day.
and check out hayden's song "woody." It's about his cat's annual springtime walkabout.
I'm so happy for you! (I've been regularly checking this site for Antoine updates.)
I was kinda hoping he got hit.
That's funny, I was hoping the same thing about you.
Although the way you're posting these days, it shouldn't be too long now...
That's fantastic. I felt so bad writing him off as gone.
We once had a cat up and vanish for three years before coming back, minus a foot and some parts of ear. I've never seen a happier cat than he was when he finally realized he was home.
Of course, this was in South Dakota, not a bustling metropolis, but still. Three years.
