2008 Burner to Report Raising $500,000 in the First Quarter

That’s more than twice as much as she reported at this point in her 2006 race. And, her campaign expects this to make her one of the top money-raisers among the current crop of Democratic Congressional challengers.
Her campaign says:
Since declaring her intention to seek a rematch with Congressman Reichert in mid-March of 2007, Burner outraised the incumbent for three consecutive quarters to close out 2007, despite President Bush hosting a $1,000 and $10,000 a head fundraiser for Congressman Reichert last August.
Still unknown: Whether Burner’s haul for this reporting period is bigger than Reichert’s—which hasn’t been reported yet.

Were I Reichert, I'd want to distance myself from an unpopular President like GWB as much as is reasonably possible for two politicians in the same party. Having him host fundraisers seems to be about the worst way possible of doing that.
Almost $200K bigger than Reichert's Eli.

Who is Reichert?
Is he that guy who bankrupted King County by forcing us to do a death penalty trial for a killer he let keep killing for almost 20 years and then "gave" a plea bargain so he got life in prison? A "sentence" we could have accomplished for one-TWENTIETH the cost?
