SEXSON drew a walk?!?! I guess that's why they play the game...

Who are the Mariners?

Now that I got that out of the way, when are they going to start showing games on UPN? I don't get FSN, and I've got nothing but times on my hands.

Sorry gillsans, but I think all the games are on FSN this year.

Sexson is in classic late-career mode, where he starts drawing lots more walks because his inability to drive anything makes him patient, or timid, depending on your point of view. He could end up with an OBP higher than his SLG, which is doomsday stuff. Worst 1B in baseball, too. He's done.

Ichiro is a quote machine. It's nice that he doesn't just cough up platitudes. ...

"Bedard struggled to find the strike zone"

Sorry, this is not true. The strike zone was the size of a postage stamp. Jim Joyce had an off night behind the plate.

"Not being completely incompetent" is a huge step up from the last couple of seasons.

I agree the strike zone was small, robbbbbb, but Bedard had trouble even reaching the plate a number of times. Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was opening day jitters, but it wasn't a great outing for him -- he's sure to be much, much sharper as the season goes on.

According to ol' squinty himself, Jose Lopez was not advised to steal 3rd. He did that on his own.
