Slog - Comments on Asked and Answered

Yesterday I wondered on Slog whether Democratic challenger Darcy Burner, who reported raising $500K this quarter, was going to out-raise Republican Congressman Dave Reichert for the fourth straight quarter. The answer: Yes, by about $170,000. That's not a good sign for Reichert, especially considering that First Lady Laura Bush was here in Washington during the first quarter to fund-raise for him. Over all, Burner now has $921,615 in the bank compared to Reichert's $698,035....

This is that character that had some low-level Microsoft job and no public service experience whatsoever, right?

She should be raising money for non-profits. Seems to be good at it.

You're entitled to your opinion, Napoleon, but I happen to think Darcy is pretty.

Eli, you do read your comment threads don't you?

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, a political campaign is a non-profit organization NapoleonXIV.

Dave Reichert is not serving the public he was elected to represent in Congress, and who overwhelmingly want Congress to put an end to the Iraq occupation.

Then again, that's what you get from someone who took 20 years to catch a serial killer who was there for the catching from the beginning.

I'll take real world business experience over Reichert's useless background any day.

I agree with @2.

All Reichert has ever done is bankrupted King County and let a mass murderer roam free for 20 years while he dithered - then "gave" him a life sentence after wasting our hard-earned tax dollars on a death sentence jury trial (costs about 20 times as much, as any REAL Sheriff would know ...) and resulting in us letting other dangerous criminals roam free or given easier plea bargains as a result of us wasting all that money.

Plus he's never seen a Bush tax cut for the ultra-rich he didn't like until he suddenly realized GWB is out of office this past few months ...

The guy is out of touch with his district.

The great pyramid scheme that is campaign fundraising continues. The winners? The two major parties and their Federal candidates. The losers? The people who give them their money, because ultimately, lobbying interests, not theirs, will be what dictates the legislation enacted.
