onLadies and gentlemen: Lucy Chet Devito.
And who’s playing Mrs. Frank? Last year’s Stranger Genius Award winner, Amy motherfucking Thone. Hurrah for that.

Why is she dressed like a Amish girl in a production of "Our Town"?
I was kinda hoping for Dina Martina.
Oh for - there are probably a dozen early to mid-twenties actresses already living here who could easily do this role, but instead Intiman decides to go with the offspring of some moderately famous TV actors, who's been out of college a whole two years (Brown, class of 2005), presumably because, well, who knows what their rationale is for this sort of thing anymore. Do they really think Seattle audiences are so provincial these days that we'll scoop up tickets in the hope perhaps of getting to sit next to her parents some evening?
At least they've deigned to fill out the supporting cast mostly with locals, so I guess that's something in their favor.
IN THE PICTURE SHE'S MARY WARREN FROM THE CRUCIBLE SINGING A POWER BALLAD DUET WITH A YOUNG GAYBE LINCOLN. WHATEVER GUYS. DONT HATE.
Anyone remember perhaps the apocryphal tale of Pia Zadora's tragic attempt (through her rich husband's influence) to portray Anne Frank at a Houston theatre production some years ago.
When the S/S came round, knocking on the Amsterdam door, they loudly asked for Anne Frank. Someone in the audience shouted out: "She's in the attic!"
I was hoping for Hillary Duff!

"My name is Anne. Anne Frank. Awesome."
Holy crap - they had a kid? They are the LAST couple on earth that I wanted to picture performing the act of conception. The mental picture...wow, just...wow.
Are there really no teenage actors available?
Am I the only one who had a brief, bizarre mental picture of Danny Devito as Otto Frank?
I can't wait to see what INTIMAN HIGH SCHOOL has in store for their daring production of Anne Frank!
Early word from rehearsals is that she plays Anne like a 13 year old girl --meaning, the way a 13 year old girl might play Anne. And Miss DeVito is 25.
In other words: not good, people... not good.
