You Know What’s Wrong with Poland?

posted by on March 18 at 15:39 PM

They’ve got an asshole president too.

The president of Poland—the very creepy Lech Kaczynski—decried the European Union’s proposed charter of rights during a prime-time televised speech on Monday. What horrors will the proposed EU charter of rights unleash on defenseless lil’ Poland if adopted? GAY MARRIAGE! But words alone couldn’t communicate the imminent threat gay marriage poses to Poland. So President Kaczynski had to take extreme measures: WEDDING VIDEOS!

A gay man from the United States on Tuesday voiced outrage against Poland’s President Lech Kaczynski for publicly using a video of his marriage to bash the EU’s proposed charter of rights…. A video of the couple’s marriage in Toronto, Canada was broadcast nationwide to illustrate Kaczynski’s presidential address.

Poland’s prime minister, Donald Tusk, wasn’t pleased.

“To scare Poles by saying that homosexuals… pose a threat to the EU is stupid, indecent, contrary to our fundamental interests and very damaging to Poland’s image abroad,” Tusk said.

You think?

Oh, and the gay man whose wedding video was shown? Mr. Brendan Fey.

My biggest problem with Poland is that if you add "rt" between the o and the l, you have a very ugly place that also has an asshole president. Only bitches live there, too.

My gay ex-roommate, who is also my fiancee's gay ex-boyfriend, is getting his Polish ass gay married this summer to a very nice gentleman. As far as I know, his homophobic Polish mother isn't coming. She still maintains that they'd be happier with wives, but could still remain "special friends." In conclusion, Poland is a land of contrast.

It's not that they're Polish that is the problem it's that they've been poisoned by the Catholic Church.

Was Brendan Fey that guy you posted an article about awhile ago? You know, the one that married his bf after only 8 months?

2. Too close to Russia.
3. Too many Catholics.
4. Funny names.

The polish people are very orderly though, almost obsessively so. The average pole starts his morning promplty at 6:00 when he urintes. Exactly two minutes later he defecates. Five minutes after that he gets out of bed.

Isn't this the president with the twin brother who serves as Prime Minister? Speaking of two kielbasas for the price of one. Well, if you need a video of my wedding just be certain one of us is male and the other is female, well then you can polish my Polish knob.

Dan-

What's your point?

Kaczyński= Bush
Tusk= Pelosi

Every country's got their hatemongers.

Fair disclosure: my family hails from Mława.

Rhett@11, Tusk kicked Jarosław Kaczyński's ass in the last election.

The Kaczyńskis are a sad case. They were leaders in Solidarność (Solidarity) early on and A++ anti-communists back in the day. Then they had a falling out with Lech Wałęsa and the progressive elements of Solidarność, which seemed to be weak and ineffectually intellectual in the turbulent early days after the fall of communism.

Poland will rise again in freedom and democracy. It will just take a little while.

"My biggest problem with Poland is that if you add "rt" between the o and the l, you have a very ugly place that also has an asshole president. Only bitches live there, too." Just a few words: the Polish president expresed views that hardly anybody shares in Poland. The speach is being criticised now in Poland on all major televisions and radios. Kaczyński is a ridiculous little man and he does NOT represent people in Poland, who are by large tolerant. His popularity is marginal. It's insulting the way you're writing about Poland and Poles. I protest against the title somebody used. Would you please change it to what's wrong with Polish president? Or What's wrong with Kaczyński better still. There is no need to dicriminate against Poles on a forum that protests against discrimination. Piotr, Poland. And perhaps one more thing: Poland is a democratic country, it just needs to get rid of a few stupid politicians.

With a president like G.W. we hardly have room to criticize anyone. Isn't it our own clown president who wants to besmirch our constitution with an anti-gay amendment. We voted for him twice. How stupid could we be?

Dan, Poland's trying to crawl its way into the 1950s. At that same point in US history, Stonewall didn't happen for another 20 years. Sooner or later Poland will catch up.

In the 50s homosexuality was taboo.
In the 70s homosexuality was tolerated.
In the 20s homosexuality will be mandatory.

In the town my mother lives in Sweden, there's a ferry to Poland. From what my sister has told me of some of the weird shit that goes on there, I'm not terribly surprised by this.
