And California Uber Alles.

The new Air Force slogan would actually translate to "Oben Alles". I've heard people fact check before posting sometimes.

The spam filter stops me from embedding the link, so I'll have to ask you to try plugging the phrase "Above All" into YouTube or Google, and review the top search hits. I find that more immediately worrisome that the Nazi Germany references.

I heard that the airforce uses things that fly above all us. Poor pun taken the wrong way.

@8: Nonsense. Ari's form is perfectly correct, whereas your rendering is not. "Oben" is an adverb; the prepositional form is "ueber." "Oben alles" is either ungrammatical or nonsensical, or a telescoped way of saying "everything is on top."

what's worse: No one in the entire fucking air force bothered to check to see if "Above All" was taken; or they knew and tried to se if anyone would catch on to the Nazi/Dead Kennedys reference?

For the still-confused: Deutchland Uber Alles was a well-known Nazi slogan = Germany Above All. Hooray for reusable propaganda!

Mike in MO-

They probably did some sort of phrase search. "Above all" does not translate to "Uber Alles".

My guess is the recruiters are finding it a tough time and are trying to get an edge on the other services.

By the way, the Dead Kennedys did not coin the phrase "Uber Alles". Some people confuse artistic license with historical facts.

As it is your outraged that the Air Force might identify itself with Jerry Brown's California. That doesn't make a lot of sense. Any way you parse it.
