Soul

Choklate at Jazz Alley

What does it mean for Seattle's most important, most traditional, and most international jazz establishment to invite Choklate, a local and emerging neosoul singer, to perform for two nights? It means something big is happening. It means Choklate's world is expanding beyond the limits of neosoul and hiphop, into the immaculate realm of America's classical music. For this show, Choklate will perform with three members of Industrial Revelation. (Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, 2033 Sixth Ave, 441-9729. 7:30 pm, $20.50, all ages, also Tues March 4.)

saw choklate open for betty lavette some time ago at chop suey, and not only was she horrible, but her and her entourage would not stop yelling over betty's set. it was so annoying that at one point, betty stopped the show and had to ask them to either leave or stop talking.

respect your elders (and far superior performers).

My graciousness holy hairdoo... she is a beautiful bounty.... and damn if I were a rich man I'd smoke a ciggarette to eliviate the nervousness of my conditioning and tell you all about a new tell-all book on surviellance soon to come out from the RTA on excess people standing around at train stations and busstops waiting to collect low income wages so they could hack into beautiful pictures like this and inappropriately complain about a system that stresses injury over responsibility while being studied, supossedly legally, and while at the same time constitutionally challenged.
