Tim Gunn Interview

posted by on March 7 at 10:10 AM

The Chicago Tribune has an interview with Tim Gunn… in which he dishes serious dirt on Victorya—who was apparently a fierce cuntola during production.

“She was sourpuss, a crabby apple as I keep saying, throughout almost all the show, other than Days 1, 2 and 3…. On one occasion—they edited this out, I knew they would—we were at Mood [Fabrics], and I’m handing out money. They each have $250 dollars. She collects the envelopes from all the designers and hands them back to me. She said, ‘I want you to count it.’ I just stared at her. ‘You want me to do what?’

“She wanted me to count the money in each envelope. I looked to the producer on site with us, and I said, ‘I’m not doing this, am I?’ and he said, ‘The rules say that if a designer asks for the money to be counted, we have to count it.’ I said, ‘Fine,’ and asked why she wanted it counted. And she had pulled out this sheaf of papers – she had the rules with her – and she said, ‘I don’t believe that we all have the same amount of money.’ Why would we do that? If someone didn’t have the right amount, wouldn’t they come to me? So I counted the money.

“But that’s what it was like dealing with her.”

Uh… what the hell happened to PR’s producers? Why on earth would they edit that confrontation out?

Holy shit! If she did that to Tim in front of me, I'd cut off her face and eat it.

I agree. There was absolutely no edge this season. It was more like summer camp. No Jeffrey. No Santino. Just love and commaraderie. If I saw one more group hug, I was going to get sick.

Mr Poe if you were that close to Tim you would be to busy sucking his gray haired cock. And you know it!

She was such a nasty bitch during the reunion show!

You're right Dan. Why the hell not put that scene into the show? People have claimed this season was boring (I actually enjoyed it) but damn, there WAS drama, they just didn't show it!

My favorite Victorya line: when Jack had to leave, she didn't want him to go to the hospital even with his face puffing up with MRSA, and she said they were engineering his departure because "he wasn't a pretty face anymore".

Comedy gold! WHY did they edit this stuff out?

Yeah I think about the only thing that could save this show would be an all-star season. They were all in the audience during the final runway, so I'm sure they're still indentured servants.

I really didn't understand why Chris had gotten kicked instead of Rami, until I read this:

“One thing about the Rami and Chris thing – and I would have put this in the show, but it was not in the show. One of the judges asked Rami and Chris, ‘Who’s your customer?’ Rami answered clearly, articulately, believably. And Chris said, ‘I don’t know.’ For me, that was it, Chris was out."

That makes a ton of sense now.

And I always thought Victorya was unbelievably bitchy, but then thought "well, maybe that's editing for drama." But JEEBUS! What a bitch!

@10, I heard that is why Jay had the falling out with the show. He refused the money as Bravo get's something like 10% of the winner's profits from the new line for life. Jay told Bravo to fuck off and he would relay on just the exposure.

Damn. That would have been the most exciting thing to happen all season. Imagine what Christian would have said about it, or Jillian for that matter. The challenge where the she and Victorya had to work together as a team made me squirm.

I got all excited because I thought he was dishing on Posh Spice. But, this is pretty good too.

I was wondering what Victor-yayas problem was at the reunion. I guess it turns out she's just crazy.

I bet the casting director that picked her is going nuts that they eliminated some of her most bitchy scenes.

P.S. Is anyone else seeing Martha Stewart as their Slog favicon today?

@12 - I had heard that as well. I've also heard (although this could just be gossip) that this "cut of the profits for life" in Bravo's contract is actually keeping everybody away. That in fact this season the contestants we saw were virtually the only contestants that applied. That's why they had to go with pros over amateurs. But again, take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah. Nothing in her response addresses the "raving nutter bitch" characterization at all.

That is kinda shitty on Tim's part... It's the equivalent of your art teacher talked shit about you at a school wide assembly.

Thanks for posting that, what a great interview.

Tim says in the interview that they had enough talented applicants to fill the next five seasons of PR... doesn't sound like anything in the contract is keeping people away.

Tim rocks. Victorya sucks. Is there anything else to discuss?

I would have liked to have seen Chris' entire collection even though he was cut out. I actually thought what he did was intriguing ... the human hair part was innovative to say the least...hehe maybe a little creepy, but original. still wish I could see the whole thing though.
