I for one think that the War on Drugs has been as great a success as the War on Terror.

And just as costly.

I once hip-checked a chick in a bush. Then I shot her and claimed her crack.

True story.

Ah, but the War on Drugs has done so much for the 14th Amendment. The War on Terror has still has some serious catching up to do.

To the woman who did the 30 day investigation, and to anyone who says pot makes you paranoid, have they ever considered that they were paranoid to begin with, but built up defenses to defeat it, and pot just made them relax to see the person they are?

This never seems to be an option. only "it make me this way! I couldn't possibly be like this to begin with!"

the same thing happend to my father a year to the week ago. he was driveing out from florida to south west texas to buy a cheap peace of property...25 acres on a river for $2,000 an acre. of course he didint belive in banks so he always kept he's life saveings wrapped in a "brick' (dumb i know)...he smokes weed, he had a quarter on him...he was pulled over in kerville and arrested....spent 4 days in federal jail...was released...the dea confiscated the money and charged him with money laundering...they quickly droped the charges, but have kept the money and refuse to give it back...because assit forfeture is a civil not criminal case it's nearly impossible to get your money back...it ends up divided between various law enforcment agencys as a shadow budget...legalised robbery....one thing i respect about islamic legal code is the penaltys for robbery and corruption, it involves a meat cleaver...but thats for another day

anyway, he's liveing with my grandmother in georgia now...a 54 going on 14 year old angry, bitter, destatute pot head.....

That little dying girl whose dad couldn't get a pardon to be at her bedside (posted on Slog last week) died. Her dad still can't get out to go to her funeral or see her sister.

in preemption to november 06 with headlines of the stunning mccain victory and subsiquent wars against the world as well as the "un-patriotic" I have two things to say
fuck america and fuck americans

The USA is what you get if you build an entire country on top of an indian burial ground.

well, Gov Patterson probably faced (maybe still is) some challenging and stressful situations in his life. wished he hadn't used coke, but hopefully he's doing better now. godspeed to him.

Bush released a non-violent drug offender? Wow, that seems like a first for him in his presidency. A step in a better direction.
