There Was More Than One

posted by on March 18 at 16:08 PM

Man, that blind guy’s got game. More dirt from New York

The day after he was sworn in to replace a governor who left office in disgrace because of a prostitution scandal, Gov. David A. Paterson admitted that he had had relationships with women other than his wife, including one who is on the state payroll.

Mr. Paterson made the disclosure at a news conference at the State Capitol, accompanied by his wife, Michelle, who held his hand as they entered the Red Room.

“I betrayed a commitment to my wife several years ago,” Mr. Paterson said with his wife at his side. “And I do not feel I’ve betrayed my commitment to the citizens of New York State. I haven’t broken any laws. I don’t think I’ve violated my oath of office. I saw this as a private matter. But both of us committed acts of infidelity.”

It was yet another surreal scene in Albany, a city still reeling from revelations last week that Gov. Eliot Spitzer had become ensnared in a federal investigation into a high-priced prostitution ring and his resignation. That another governor could have questions raised about his sex life, so soon after being sworn in, seemed agonizing to many here.

I don't care about their sex lives unless they're hypocritical in some way or other. It doesn't matter to me. If Albanites feel overwhelmed, maybe they should just get over it already. Jesus Christ!

Whaaaa?

Members of government have genitalia and human flaws like the rest of us?
I suppose that revelation is minblowing to the 34% of people who still support President Curious George and Dick man-in-the-yellow-hat Cheney.

Maybe he mistook the staff member for his wife. Easy mistake for a blind dude.

I'm sorry, my US dollar bills just got devalued today by the $35 billion "gift" the US Treasury made to Bear-Stearns thanks to the Fed.

Who cares? Not I. Sex scandals are what they use to distract the masses from the corporate welfare that is making you poorer each and every day for at least the last seven years.

Maybe only nuns should run for public office (we already know a little too much about priests)...

9: What, and let all those snatch licking dykes run the government? I'm sure the people condemning Spitzer would love that.

Sorry, that was a bit heavy handed.

first i'd like to say a blind man would be totally HOT... of course, if he can only FEEL you. But saying "i'm a politician and i've had extramarital sex, or sex with a ho" is like saying my name is Marmaduke and I'm a DOG..... they go hand in hand ... please.....

and did you see the piece on The Daily Show last night about how the wives have to stand there and take all this crap while their husbands confess? Hilarious.

He's black, legally blind, non-monogamous and forthcoming. When Patterson tells me he doesn't give a shit what his minister/priest/rabbi says (or does), then move over Obama, I'm voting for the new Guv of NY to be Prez. How refreshing. And uncomplicated.

It appears that the major difference between Patterson and Spitzer, in terms of getting kicked out office over this, is that people like Patterson.

Anyone who was unpopular in high school could've seen this coming.

Wow... You gotta be proud of them for their honesty. Let's hope it starts a new trend: being open about the skanky stuff you did before it becomes a crazy finger-pointing scandal.

How come there aren't any Governors who swing?

It happened several years ago. The couple seems to still be together. Who cares? Not even the hypocrisy of Spitzer bothered me, it was the fact he used government money to buy the sex. The hatred Americans have for the body amazes me. I'm wondering if the oversexualization of our culture might be a good thing for the younger generation. Someone admits to ever having sex outside of marriage? Who cares! What do they have to contribute as a public servant.
