Now that you've expressed it's awesomeness, it will be closed down for condos.

I ate at that place once. I had a delicious chicken sausage thing. Then about 20 minutes later I came down with the wurst case of food poisoning everywhere. It was coming out both ends man... both ends. Never again will I go there.

Some co-workers and I used to work in Kirkland but on about one Friday a month we would trek across the lake to hit this place up. Sooooo delish!

I hit up SmartyPants in Georgetown for lunch today and it was SO fucking delicious I can't even say. The Troublemaker made my list of top ten sandwiches ever. Maybe it was just timing, but I'm picky about sandwiches and this one was perfect.

Oh, man, I love Shultzy's! It's one of the (many) restaurants I really miss. Those fries are the best I've ever had, too.

@2-they should call this place "Shitzy's".

GREAT place. And isn't "Seattle's Wurst Restaurant" a great slogan?

Hmmm, I might have to go there for lunch tomorrow.

I was with you until "sour cream". Sour cream on a dog, any kind of dog, is just evil. I'm a traditionalist: brat or Italian hot, mountain of sauerkraut, mustard.

People who put ketchup on a dog should be publicly drowned.

People who drink wine with steak should be forced to asphyxiate themselves.

I once met the owner. He told me a crazy story about how he had a Schultzy's in the microsoft cafeteria, and was making money hand over fist, but closed it because THE QUALITY WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH!

I always think about that when I hear about Schultzy's.

@11

That story makes me glad

hmmmm....did he mean the quality of his food wasn't high enough, or the quality of Microsoft products?

After Vista, I'd be ashamed to peddle my weiners there also...

food poisoning takes um, i think 8-12 hours to set in. definitely more than 20 minutes. unless there's poison in it...

Better hope they don't screw up your meal or forget to process your ticket with the cooks and leave you waiting for an hour before they notice you never got food... because, as I was ungraciously told long ago, they will not discount or comp your meal if they do. If a server elects to do so, it will come out of their own pocket, per the owner's policy.

So yeah, I don't eat there anymore. From the looks of things, they don't miss me, so good for them, I suppose.

I've never had a bad Shultzy's food experience. And their beers are typically interesting.

@15... All I know is I didn't eat anything all day, then I went there, and then I was uncontrollably shitting and I my stomach cramped up. That normally doesn't happen when I go to a restaurant. I blame Schultzys.

@15,

I've had food poisoning twice. Both times it took less than an hour to set in.

Yes, I think food poisoning can hit the minute you walk out the restaurant door. Why wait, let's get it over with.

It depends on what it is. The really nasty ones that need medical attention, like Salmonella and Campylobacter, can take a day or two to set in. That's the fun part: you really don't know what it was that got you.

I love Shultzy's. I eat there on average two times a week. Started my freshman year, I'm a senior now.

It was damned hard to convince friends to go their first time. "A sausage place? Why would I want to go there," they'd ask. They all became regulars.

Never had a bad (overall) experience. Once, my brat wasn't cooked to my liking they replaced it without thinking twice.

Shultzy's hasn't been any good since they moved into that restaurant space from that walk-up hole in the wall up the street. This is over a decade now, and the two times I've eaten there since it's been over-priced and just didn't care for the vibe.

@23
Have you been there since they remodeled last year? It's actually pretty nice. Good beers. I skip the wurst.

@25, I am no plant. I just really like the place. Feel free to email me if you'd like confirmation at johnw(at)orcasnet(dot)com. Better yet, meet me at Shultzy's for a beer.

You imply that it's unlikely someone would recommend something they like and encourage others to enjoy it too.

That is just wrong.

Some people are fanatics for food just as others are fanatics for bands.
