I'd say he's even more threatening, by the wording in his messages. Good luck to the school in dealing with his bullshit.

Schools need to be taken away from the public and headed by a coalition of scientists. Parents are too self-indulged to be trusted raising future generations of Americans and having influence on the institutions educating them. This jag-off is a perfect example.

Christ Almighty!

Back in the good old days, he'd pull her out and home school her to protect her from these evil influences.

Of course, that might leave him with less time to bloviate about everything that's wrong with our heathen, godforsaken world....

Oh, I bet his neighbors love him. Not that I would ever suggest that they do anything illegal, but maybe he could be "encouraged" to live somewhere else.

I can't wait until this guy finally loses his shit completely and has to be commited. I hope they check him into the crazy house across the street from my house on Capital Hill. Can't you just imagine him rocking back and forth in the window mumbling to himself, tortured by all the damn queers flaunting their sexuality on every street corner. When that happens I think I will have to take up a new hobby... Throwing rocks at the crazy!!! Yay!!!

I can't wait until this guy is finally deemed completely bat shit crazy in the eyes of the state.

I hope they check him into the loony bin across the street from my house on Capital Hill. Can't you just imagine him rocking back and forth in the window mumbling to himself, tortured by all the damn queers flaunting their sexuality on every street corner. When that happens I think I will have to take up a new hobby... Throwing rocks at the crazy!!! Yay!!!

This man is out of control. I can't believe people actually give this credit.

I wonder if these letters could be used against him in court for harrassment? Because the more he sends these letters, the more damage he does to himself and his church.

2 things:

1. I have a hard time (no wait: impossible time) believing that Christian students at Mount Si feel like they're in a hostile environment just because of the presence of one little GSA club.

2. Has Hutch ever considered home-schooling or Christian schools? Those two approaches were practically designed for extremist wingnuts who chafe at the thought of their children receiving secular educations.

Posted by Hernandez | March 13, 2008 1:07 PM

I wonder what would happen if his kids came out of the closet after they graduate from high school and make it public. I wonder if Hutch would make an uproar and publicly denounce and disown them if they did that or would he swallow his pride and be silent for the love of his own children?

Do you think that conservative, ultra-patriotic, pro-war, Bible-stumpers as one administrator has said feels safe at Mount Si? Do you think Christian, Mormon, and any other religious groups of kid think Mount Si is a safe environment for them?

Yes! Because that Gay-Straight Alliance walks around and beats up other students just because they're *straight*. Where does this guy conjure up his persecution complex from?

To paraphrase Hitchens, if you gave this guy an enema, there'd be nothing left.

@10: I garuntee you he would publicly denounce, disown, and ridicule his own children. Frankly i'd be shocked if he didn't just go balls out and murder them.

Sigh. Doesn't this make you wish, just for a second, that the people in this world who are crazy enough to assassinate someone would go after fuckers like this and Fred Phelps and James Dobson and Ted Haggard instead of JFK, RFK, MLK, etc.

If he would just shut up and join the 21st century, he would not make me have thoughts like this....

I feel threatened by his poor grammar. I know he played football and all, but did he NEVER have to pick up a book or write a paper at some point?

Calling the GSA a "sex club" is like calling Youth Group a death club.

This is just... bizarre. I bet the principal is really wishing they'd never invited him just now. I mean, the whole "you invited me, you can't get rid of me" really strikes my BS nerve.

@13, no need to assassinate the stupid puke - a burning cross on his front lawn would probably get the job done nicely.

13 and 18 are either right-wing trolls seeding things to be outraged about, or complete fucking idiots who think murder and racist discrimination is something to joke about.

"even if letters like yours are continued to be written." sheesh, even doesn't this guy have a grammar check on his computer. i mean, i know grammar and computers are all scientific and stuff and thus evil, but really, come on...

Thinking of a more positive response, what do you think it would cost to donate a decent LGBT book collection to the GSA/Mt Si High School library? Anyone have any ideas on how to go about this? I'd be more than happy to kick in a couple hunderd dollars to get some supportive material into the hands of these kids, who are being lied about and attacked in the national Christian media.

Oh, FUCK YOU.

There are an assload of Christian and Mormon kids out there, and I'm sure they all feel just peachy and predominant at Mt. Si... until you start telling them that THE GAYS are going to forcibly corner them and TURN THEM GAY.

It was a hostile environment before you showed up, Hutch. It was just one you agreed with. Now that there's resistance to your "my way or the highway" stance, it's something you're going to fight to the death.

BTW, how's that majority control of Microsoft coming, anyway? Oh, not so well? Probably because nobody cares.

Sounds like somebody has no idea how hard it is to fire a teacher.

The funniest part of this is how he thinks "hostile environment" is a legal cause of action. He probably heard somebody talking about Title VII and now thinks you can sue people for hurting your feelings.

So what, these students should be disciplined and the teachers fired for exercising their right to free speech in a PUBLIC school? What a retard. I feel sorry for his kid at that school.

So if he makes a serious attempt (beyond angry letters and grandstanding) to stop Mount Si's Day of Silence, what are we going to do about it? And what will the Stranger do? This douchenozzle can't get his way.

He is already making a serious effort against the DoS. He is part of a group calling themselves the "Coalition to Defend Education" that has written open letters to the GSA and the school board demanding that the DoS be stopped. You can check them out at www.defendeducation.org.

@31 - I meant something more like a physical intervention. I'm not intimately acquainted with Mount Si's administration, but it seems unlikely to me that they would bow to rude demands from an obvious crank. But I doubt Hutcherson will stop at that. He likes public spectacles (witness his idiocy at the Microsoft shareholders' meeting), and I wouldn't put it past him to stage some kind of protest.

Posted by Morgan | March 13, 2008 4:42 PM

He makes a big deal about having been an "invited guest", as if the school went out of their way to find him and convince him to speak. My impression is that actually his own kid, who is a student at the school, asked the school if he could come speak and the school said ok. That sounds like he INVITED HIMSELF to me. Doesn't it sound that way to anyone else?

Thanks for chiming in everybody. As a parent of a Mount Si GSA-er myself, your support means a lot. If you want to help out, contact the school board (www.svsd410.org is the district's website) and let them know that you think Hutcherson is a hate-mongering threat to the students and staff of my school. The admin has agreed to support the day of silence and the last board meeting was definitely a victory.

The GSA advisors are Mrs. McCormick and Mr. Goldhammer, and their email addresses can be found under the directory at: www.mountsihighschool.com , they are always looking for support. The Day of Silence will definitely be a showdown and it deserves some media attention. I'd love to see The Stranger (where's Dan been through all of this?) and the community to get more involved.

Thanks for the support!

www.mtsiparents.blogspot.com is the parent-led, pro-GSA, anti-Hutcherson website that's been keeping track of the entire, messy ordeal. Feel free to head over there and offer your support.

hutcherson is a pussy and a failure who blames gays for the fact that he played for the 1975 San Diego Chargers who only won 2 games all season. This guy is a big talker with tiny little pea sized nuts who couldn't tackle a baby bunny rabbit. Look up his football record. He spends all of his time trying to intimidate people but he is a big pussy. A gay guy or a 12 year old girl could easily tackle hutcherson, make him fumble the ball, and run into the endzone.

I think that letter is sufficient grounds to bar him from coming within 400 yards of the school.

as an invited guest that was treated very poorly

What a fucking pussy. He's the loudest hatemonger in the area and he's just devastated that he got booed by a couple of teachers. Too fucking bad. Isn't it amazing how the most boorish bigoted morons have the thinnest skin.

Focus on Antioch Bible Stretchers and the far right:

Please note, even if Hutch is neutralized in some way or another (by the public knowledge of his his words, for example), his supporters and followers are still at large.

If he goes down, what is to be done with the 5 wingnuts that pop up to replace him?

Just a thought...
