*WHEW* At least we can just keep driving our SUV's around Seattle since it will not make any difference at this point! And after this weekend of biking around Seattle, in the U-District, down Eastlake and around Burke Gillman. Gas can hit at least $6.00 and no one will stop there driving habits.

BTW, what is up with the "For Lease" sign on the Stranger offices on Cap Hill?

That sign has been on that bldg. for two years.

I HAVE NOT HOOTED SO HARD IN YEARS, the Ronnie and Nancy parody is just a hoot, going to view it many time today.

Thanks to whomever found it, God, it is funny. Of course, as for Nancy, most likely true.

Still chuckling and chortling - god, how funny.

As gas goes up in price, we will drive less, but, NOT abandon our cars.

I now plan my routes and consolidate errands. I also use stamps more and the net.

Fuel waste will be the first to go, long vacations next, and the second car.

The whole carbon thing brings up a point - the uncertainty in the models cuts both ways. As we learn more it may well turn out to be worse rather than better. (And given how much oil-industry pushback we're getting on the models, worse is arguably more likely than better.)

If you're driving on a road at night and someone tells you there may be a bridge out ahead, the weakness of your lights isn't a reason to speed up...

And @1 Yes it makes as much difference now as it did yesterday. To put it brutally, the brunt of the hit is going to be suffered by the poor of the world. If we can get folks to behave well now we can still save the children of the rich (i.e. ours). (How's that for realpolitik?)

How about cleaning up the crime in the Central Dist. and Rainer Valley before building up Interbay and filling it with yuppie condos.

Interbay?

Yeah, right ...

If all CO2 emissions ceased utterly, it would be a hundred years before the warming was reversed.

The Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame is utter bullshit - but still - fuck yeah.
