I've read Soiled Doves. It's not well written by any stretch, but it's full of fascinating stories of whorin' in the Wild West. A lot more Deadwood than Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Grim stuff, overall.

The chapter on old Seattle is particularly enlightening and hilarious.

I actually also read Soiled Doves. It's actually really really interesting, as flamingbanjo says. I'd recommend it.

I bought Soiled Doves at Wall Drug on a road trip to Seattle a few years back. One of my favorite parts of the book is the picture of the lady on the back who wrote it. She looks like somebody's friendly cookie baking grandma.

Holy God! Who knew that Soiled Doves would be so popular? I've gotta track this mother down, apparently.

I've read Brothel: Mustang Ranch and Its Women by Alexa Albert and can confirm that it is an excellent read. I would even re-read it. Definitely worth your time.
