Now how can we burn down 95% of the art you post on Slog? Or is not having any taste your taste?

Crazy crane bidets! Got nozzles for all kinds of orifices!
This kind of crap is one of the signs of civilization's end.

That staircase looks fairly awkward to use.

I guess it's true what they say about money and taste.

only rich people can afford to have this much bad taste...

I've always dreamed of being able to afford to display my artwork in the shower.

who lives in houses like this? who? with a painted veranda half-way up the stairs? i remember watching the sopranos and thinking people that poor taste in decorating didn't really exist.

i stand corrected.

and to think that before today i never though beige could be gaudy.

I love that wallpaper mural with all my heart!

When I was a kid we'd go visit my "classy" Aunt Ruby. She had one of those!

This house is just a series of accidents waiting to happen. Seriously, it's a functional nightmare.

The decorator and the architect should be fired and sentenced to work on GWB's Presidential Library, using crayons.

@8 - um, the richest man in the world is Mexican, FYI.

I went on the Street of Dreams tour of these houses. This was the most horrid house. The house itself really sucked. The layout wasted so much good space and the way it was decorated was super extra gross. The other houses on the tour were a little better. But I'm not surprised none of them sold.

@11: I'm so very sorry that I don't make it a habit to keep up with which jackass has the exactly the most money to waste on shitty ugly furniture at any given second. To clear it up, I'm talking about Bill Gates. Bill Gates is ugly and nerdy and has no taste and he used part of his obscene fortune to furnish his house entirely with hideous Ethan Allen furniture when he could. So there :P

You know, the thing I wonder--

With all of Paul Allen's billions of dollars, couldn't he afford decent dental care?

His mouth looks like a forest of jagged, tobacco-colored stumps. You'd think he could afford some decent porcelain.

Or is Vulcan lobbying the City to provide it for him?

11 & 8, you're both wrong. Buffett is still the top.

No, sorry, you're counting his foundation, you can only count his non-foundation holdings.

I hate when a comment is made and everyone focuses on the most annoying and irrelevant detail. Its not about who/how rich... Its about the bad taste! Goddamnit!

I'm glad I was never a houseguest there. With my luck, I'd knock over one of those cast-iron cranes and break the shower's glass walls!

Actually, #8/13, it's NOT furnished in Ethan Allen at all (not that what's really there is any better...just more expensive). Don't know where you get your info: perhaps the Urban Legends store that supplies the personal-submarine/digital art that changes when you enter the room/subcutaneous microchip rumors. Alas, it's just another mansion. With no Ethan Allen.
