Jack knows it need to be closer to all the Pike/Pine bars to fulfill the need of the after drinking burger. That's what I really meant! HA

KFC colonel was a southern militia type colonel dude they had night patrols to oppress enslaved people why did we allow this pro slavery image to even exist in Seattle? On a fried chicken restaurant?

But now, with Obama, we get to turn the page which means we get the nice, nonracial Jack in the Box dude to be the image.

Cool.

Take that boomers and your damn racist KFC!!!

Hm, we'll see how that works, now that there are several after-closing hot dog stands and a fallafel truck within spitting distance of that location.

By 2009, it will be renamed Jack In The Cafe.

Is ANYTHING you believe actually true, unPC? Where did you get this "militia" and "enslaved peoples" garbage? The KFC franchise chain isn't even particularly southern.

Anyone have an identical reaction? Willing to do a short survey/answer a few questions about it?

Goodness, what is Capitol Hill coming to? The Burger King at the Harvard Market is now a UPS store, I have absolutely no idea where the nearest McDonald's is, and now KFC is closing. Even Jack In The Box has apparently been demoted from its prominent place on Broadway. Looks like we're seceding from Fast Food Nation. Of course, there's always Dicks...

This would be the perfect place for new condos.

Jack on Bwy. is coming down for Sound Transit - or they would never leaave that location

The jumbo Jack is a great deal for 1.29 - say cheap lunch - lots of food, quick. I add extra lettuce and tomato and pickle

@13 - the closest mcdonald's is on madison, over in the middle of pill hill - a block east of boren, which would make it...madison and minor i think?

Why is Oddfellows Hall becoming condos while this piece stays a decidedly not dense one story suburban style fast food joint?

The consolidation and elimination of fast food on the Hill is a blessing in disguise.

Broadway's already driven out one Burger King.

Its carcass is (of course) inhabited by a Thai restaurant.

That broadway jitb spot will be the capitol subway station for light rail.

This is truely terrible. JITB's "Big Cheeseburger" is the best value on the planet at $1.29. It is big and juicy like their $4 burgers and is better than their Jumbo Jack but most don't know it is on the menu. Or most prefer the token lettuce/tomato. Not me I am a "Ultimate Cheeseburger" kind of guy and these one fits the wallet right and certainly nothing close to your typical $1 burger.

Does Jack still have the same fabulous chicken sandwich that they had 25 years ago? (That was the last time I lived near a Jack in the Box)Gawwd, I loved them.....mmm,good

I wish Vivace could have moved into that space (not that building, however) instead.

@13: that's how it should be. dick's, as you've noticed, is WAY more popular than all these POS national chains on B'way.

eat local, even fast food.

Great, now Pine Street can be blocked to through traffic from 12-3 am every weekend night by all the (Jack!)asses lining up for the drive through. I was so happy it was gonna be gone! I can't tell you how many times I've not been able to drive up Denny to my house due to that cluster f&*k.

I am really upset. I don't like Dick's, except their milkshakes. JITB is a very good deal and the food is better. NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Fuck this gentrification, fuck those queer ass condo developments ruining what keeps broadway gay and grimy. I like walking around at night constantly watching my back, keeps things interesting, no homo.

ps

Wow, I do remember that Burger King. I feel old.
