2008 Surrogate Spoiler
posted by March 6 at 14:14 PM
onI kind of wish I could be at this event to ask civilized questions about the practical effect of a Nader candidacy in 2008. Or maybe fight someone. The Socialist Alternative is sponsoring the following rhetorical question event:
Can Obama deliver real change?Or should we support Nader?
Barack Obama has inspired millions with a message of hope and change. He speaks out against the Iraq war and claims to refuse donations from lobbyists. However, his record leaves many questions unanswered. Why has he repeatedly voted to fund the war if he is against it? Why has he received more money from Wall Street than any other candidate?
Ralph Nader recently announced he is running for president on an independent, anti-war, pro-worker platform. Can Obama deliver, or should we break from the two corporate parties and support Nader? Come hear why you should consider supporting Ralph Nader’s campaign, and join us for this important discussion!

Tragically, I cannot attend. I’ll be at a screening of 10,000 B.C..

Send Steinbacher's old can of pepper spray in your place.
Have fun with that.
You should alert the LaRouchies to this. I'm sure they would be happy to attend, and the resulting fireworks would almost certainly be more enteraining than 10,000 B.C., which I've heard disappointing buzz about. I still expect a full review of the flick, tho.
I hear dreds were big back in 10,000BC.
There's no way you could be getting paid enough to sit through that piece of shit...
Support Nader if you want eight more years of Bush/McCain.
(frickin morons)
*sigh* And here I was, thinking that the Socialist Alternative couldn't possibly become any more irrelevant than they already are, and here they go surprising me.
I can imagine few things I could care less about then what Socialist Alternative thinks of anything, though 10,000BC might be one of them.
(oh, and I'll be at The Bank Job - the BC movie looks rad!)
Interesting that Nader is now making the rounds of African American talk shows, such as Al Sharpton. He seems to be angling for the black vote if Obama is not the nominee. He seemed to indicate that the Dems are ready to throw blacks under the bus.
I fucking loved The Bank Job, and I hate Statham. Hate. Oh my God do I hate him and his shitty movies.
And no, there is nothing "rad" about 10,000 B.C.. Come on.
Oh, come on, Mr. Poe. It's not pretending to have a cool plot, just to be fun ...
If you want "fun", go rent anything MEDIA 80s. Stop supporting this cud.
@11... Oh my god now I hate you!!! Jason Statham is my movie boyfriend. Even balding he is hot as FUCK!!! I don't give a shit how bad his movies might be, the sight of his shirtless chest causes every last one of them to get two thumbs up in my book. And when he gets really gay and rolls around in oil with other men like in the first Transporter... Well... I drool... From down *there*.
Why doesn't Obama just get this over with and ask Nader to be his VP?
Because Nader's even older than the 72 yo McCain will be in Nov 08, hairyson.
I actually prefer it when people hate me.
Now, officially everything that could ever be said about Ralph has been said. He's all used up. He's a dry husk. Blow hard and he will fly away.
Now that Hill's go the nom locked up, you folks should realize that McCain is going to trounce her in the general. The support of Nader is an anti-system reactions, and very well thought-out.
