Scandal Gives Kristen’s Music Career a Boost, Provokes Aggressively Unfunny “Crosscut” Parody

posted by on March 13 at 14:20 PM

As reported over on Line Out, in the latest “Kristen”-related news, the $1,000-an-hour prostitute—AKA Ashley Alexandra Dupré—has gotten a surprising career boost from the scandal: NYC’s Z100, the most popular radio station in the country, has put her song “What We Want” in rotation. To listen to more of Ashley’s R&B-inflected musical stylings, check out her page on AmieStreet—which she hastily updated with a new song this morning. Is it wrong that this makes me sort of love her?

In other Kristen-related non-news, Crosscut has a “parody” imagining what it would be like to interview the high-priced hooker. The joke: Whores are dumb! And they like to do it! That’s why they’re whores! HA!

Well, so long as she can actually sing and carry a tune, why is this worse than any of the pap pushed on us by the Disney child-star actress-turned-singer choices that top the pop charts today?

I remember when Samantha Fox, a page 2 girl, was hot on the charts.

I think you can assume that any humor in Crosscut is "aggressively unfunny".

This is depressing. If I were a working musician, I think I'd kill myself.

#1: no, this isn't any better than the pap pushed on us, etc. But it doesn't make the pap all right, either. It would be great if we actually got some real music again one of these days.

#4: Wasn't she eating pretty well at $1,000 an hour? Sheesh.

@5
if, as a working musician, the fact that a hard working ho gets her song played, makes u wanna kill yourself, than musician shouldnt be your line of work.

if fools want to pay her a grand, than she would be a silly fool if she didnt take it.

if people want to pay her "poppy" R and B tracks. Good for her.

No. She should stick to whoring, as apparently she's better at it. She certainly doesn't sing well enough to be a pro at that.

Well, I suppose you have to seize opportunity when it arises.

if i had a spare $1000, i'd like to know what you get for that hour.

my guess is you just get smooth, young skin, hot lingerie, & smells nice. not any particular skill sets.

@5 - good point. But, I'm just saying it's not worse than Brit or the rest of the Disney Drug Gang.

If you're not finding 'real music' out there, you're not looking hard enough.

I can't believe ECB of all people would find something unfunny. What is this world coming to?
