I love how she keeps saying that you hate blogs. Not that you, you know, edit one or anything. It's your hatred of all things bloggy that led you to criticize them, not their inability to call bullshit when it's obvious. Yup, you've been a bad, bad boy.

this was a matter of rss feeds colliding for me. i read through it all and decided to go with dan on this one--and now that i've read comments from each page, its obvious i made the right decision. jezebel should stop getting their panties twisted all the time and stick with the catty comments about pop culture.

Ha ha, I know! She managed to very eloquently reflect my feelings on this whole, insane Wall Street feeding frenzy and Bernanke's socialization (bailout) of the Hypocrisy Olympics Gold-Medal-Winning Billionaire Boys Club's losses:

On a somewhat related note, I wonder if trolls like Anne Coulter get some sort of jollies from whipping people into states like Moe's? I suspect they do. (And no, I'm not saying Dan is a troll. Dan may have some inflammatory viewpoints, but unlike Anne Coulter etc., he doesn't spew hate.)

But seriously, THIS IS WHY PEOPLE HATE FEMINISTS! This is why people don't take feminists seriously.

And that is unfortunate. I don't take that brand of "feminism" seriously any more than I take televangelists seriously. Well, okay, there's a problem there, I admit. Televangelists are influential. Jezebel? Not so much. On the one hand, the blog preaches to the choir. To the other, it stirs up shit for ratings. Few, if any, will come along, read one of those self-centered whine and cheese sessions, and think, "By golly-gumdrops, Jezebel is right!"

The sad thing is that people who hate feminists in general for Jezebel's particular brand of bullshit are applying a desperate fallacy that since one feminist is wrong, that one feminist must be representative of all feminists.

We'd be slightly less inaccurate to suggest that all men are rapists. Or that all Americans are murderous, lying thieves. Or that all Christians are child abusers. But "slightly less inaccurate" cannot, in any of these cases, be taken to mean "accurate".

There's no point in my shouting, "Fuck Jezebel!" The cruelest thing would be to just ignore it.
