<description><![CDATA[<p>The rising food prices do suck.</p>

<p>Other than that though, I'm all about this recession. I'm crossing my fingers for some lower housing prices. And on a vindictive note, I'm happy to see all the people living beyond their means and contributing to this country's obsession with wealth get their comeuppance. Few people beyond the banking and real estate industry have lost their jobs so far. Which means that unless you've spent the past 5 years making poor financial decisions or taking advantage of the people making said decisions, you don't have much to worry about. </p>

<p>It makes me think there might be a little fairness left in the world yet. </p>

<p>Nah. In 1929 the behavior of economic markets was still largely a mystery. We have a much better understanding of how to regulate the economy now. As a result, it is unlikely that we will have to ride the rails or live in hobo camps anytime soon barring some huge disaster like a nuclear attack or alien invasion. <br />
This is just a long overdue correction to a system that has overextended itself. </p>
