Re: Re: Erica?

Sorry, but that’s just not the same as appearing on television shows as an Obama surrogate, which is what Ferraro was doing for Clinton. Not that I ever complained about the stupid things Ferraro said.

Whatever, make the man resign from his honorary committee, I couldn’t care less. But no one would mistake those statements for Obama’s views.

This is getting so fucking stupid.

Annie it was so funny that in your Presidents interview this week you sarcastically asked "You want to be Jack Johnson??" (in reference to a hated by the Stranger band)

and there is a full paged Jack Johnson advertisement on the opposite page. Heheheh.

No one would mistake those statements for Obama's views.

"He has impacted the life of Barack Obama so much so that he wants to portray that feeling he got from Rev. Wright onto the country because we all need something positive," said another member of the congregation.

@10--So let me get this straight, anyone who doesn't agree with you or even suggests misdeeds by anyone on the Obama campaign is a troll? Ummm...thanks for clarifying...

Haven't posted on this series of dumb posts but when accused of being the dreaded ecce, I must deny!

Wright has been his minister for 20 years. Inspired the name of his book. Baptized his children. This bothers me not just as an obvious campaign liability but a question of judgement on the part of Obama. ABC has a story on this minister and speeches he sells as part of a book that are pretty far out there in being anti US government. He's probably right on most of what he says but not for about 95% of the people. Why is Obama still going to this church is a way bigger deal than who is on your campaign fiance committee (which is almost anyone that will help raise money basically)? That is the question.

@11, nope. My candidate is McCain.

@12, but are you also umvue? how about unPC?

Yeah, echoing others on here, but what is the deal with the 2 of you arguing on the blog here when you work together and presumably have email, IM, or can even potentially roll your desk chair to the other's cube and beat the shit out of eachother with your Obama and Hillary righteousness?

Maybe Dan or The Stranger HR department needs to have a little sit-down with you two.

It's simple really - he'll say whatever it takes to get elected. He'll be willing to denounce his own preacher, but that doesn't mean he really believes it or will stop listening to the man preach.

Such hope he gives me.

Don't forget that Ferraro is also taking a check from Fox News this whole time.

You guys think Wright's sermons are inflammatory? You obviously have never gone to a black church. Trust me, I've heard much worse. Black preachers, especially old ones, say these things all the time. It's theater. It fills their coffers. The flock laughs at this shit and go on about their merry ways. Those black preachers supporting Clinton say the same things.

So religious people are sheep to their pastor's outspoken political views? Kinda like Catholics take orders from the Pope?

Clinton Campaign: 0
Seperation of spiritual and political views: 100

S'right. Clintons supporters are only compelled to mention race every five minutes because Obama isn't white.

I have obama winning even if all the states where he won because of blacks were either totally erased from the contest or split 50 50 between he and clinton.

so no Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, DC, Alabama, South Carolina? he is still leading in pledged delegates, 1131 to 1085

if you split the delegates evenly down the middle obama would still be leading 1347 to 1302.5.

annie, *you're* the one looking shrill in this exchange. It's clear that you and Eli can't tolerate anyone on the Stranger staff posting anything that isn't Obama-approved PR.

If other people dissected your guys' posts the way you do ECBs, you'd be fucking pissed. Quit bullying ECB.

Also, Obama has many awesome qualities, but that church is a total liability. If Obama thinks so he shouldn't have given Wright a role in the campaign, even a volunteer one.

Sven, dude!

For MOST peoples (especially gay men and just about any politician) ANY black church is a total liability.

#18 is right.

Calling bullshit is not the same as bullying.
