It's still available in c-c-c-cache, thanks to the 'vacuum known as google' (as I read in a blog post about the Wales/Marsden Wikiverse drama).
AhahahahahahAAhahahahaha!!!!
Faye Bender needs to spend six months in jail, and then do about 1,000 hours of community service in the real South Central LA.
I'll bet this never would have happened if she had taken the Eagle Pledge.
Something to consider before your next book eh Dan?
fnarf, wouldn't that be a bit harsh for faye.. from what i've been told faye was lied to and betrayed. it seems that she is guilty of being too trusting. perhaps she should have know what she was getting.. but she didn't and that mistake is costing her enough. if anybody needs to be fined, jailed and serving service wouldn't it be the author of the deception ?
Nope, Riz. Her agent was in on the scheme. She set up the website for the "charity" as a book-promotion tool. Not naive; guilty as hell.
Her editor at Penguin was suckered, but her excuse evaporated when she went through the EXACT SAME THING with James Frey. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Isn't that how it goes?
fnarf.. yep that's how it goes..
or this one..
who is more fool ? the fool or the fool that follows the fool ?
Oh, well...
I keep hoping the memoir scandals will evolve into some kind of critical thinking, don't believe everything you read type deal, but advocating for critical thinking just isn't in the cards these days.
