Re: Clinton Takes the Lead in Texas

CNN also explains that, via the same phenomenon that’s causing them to wait before calling Ohio, the major population centers in Texas haven’t reported very many votes yet—and the votes they have reported are breaking heavily for Obama.

With the race in Texas being so much closer, perhaps this bodes well for Obama.

I'm really not looking forward to seeing Clinton win both Ohio and Texas and having to listen to the media declare her the comeback kid blah blah blah blah. . . . blah.

Some of them are. Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston are big for Obama; San Antonio and El Paso are Clinton. Her lead is widening, but it's still a tie from a delegate perspective.

if only like 30 something percent of precincts are reporting, how come http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#val=TX
cnn's map has so many counties filled in already? does anybody know if that comes off the exit polls or the precint reports?

Most counties in Texas have about 12 people in them each. Then there are the tiny counties that are basically the humongous cities themselves.

Loving County is my favorite; it's the smallest county in America, with 67 people in it. According to CNN, with 100% in it went for Obama 7-2, but only adding up to 55% of the total vote, which suggests that a third candidate got 6 votes: who?

did you look at the map in the link? 'cause all the counties around all the cities are already shaded. i'm pretty sure its the remaining "no data" counties that have "about 12 people in them," not the already marked ones around the cities.
