Police Scanner

Charles Mudede writes the greatest Police Beat column in the history of the genre. He’s perfected the form. Others will continue to attempt adjustments; their copies are simply Ocean Force to the original Cops.

Having paid my respect to Mr. Mudede, allow me to turn you onto The Central District News Blog’s CD Scanner feature. Scott chronicles the day’s calls for Seattle’s Finest with sparse commentary.

I’m not sure how he does it. I’d go insane if I spent every hour of every day on radio watch.

"10:25am - 9th & Seneca - Caller says his girlfriend was walking up to put cash into a parking lot pay box when a woman ran up and grabbed the cash out of her hand. The victim is now chasing the suspect. Suspect is a tall black female with glasses."

I seriously need to get this radio station at work.

I tried doing this, but my HD radio won't pick up the police channels, so I switched to KVI to hear them talk about how mean we liberals are to the poor greedy neocons and how we plan to sneak into their houses, get them drunk, take them to recruiting stations and get them shipped to Iraq and then Iran to fight the wars there instead of fighting for them while they sit at home and whine.

Maybe this HD radio wasn't such a good idea ...

I think I would be really paranoid if I listened to that during every waking moment.

Now that I think about it, I have not seen Police Beat in print in weeks and weeks.

Was it axed?
