tsm @2, this isn't normal primary campaigning. You don't claim that your fellow party candidate is unqualified to win the general. Clinton has adopted a whole new, ugly strategy. Fuck her, and more importantly, fuck Wolfson and Penn.

If hacks like Penn stay on Clinton's staff, she won't be able to win it either.

a good evaluative statement would be (a) either Obama or Clinton could win, or (b) either could lose, and (c) what's concerning is that NEITHER ONE is really ahead of McCain at this point in head to head polls.

from realclear politics site it seems HRC is an insignificantly bit ahead of Obama in the national head to head averages and also in PA H and FL:

Or, take the USA survey electoral map some Obama supporters trumpeted here this day. It is based on polls in all 50 states and it shows Obama beats McCain with 280 electoral college when you only need 270 to win.

Not mentioned by those OBama supporters was that the same source shows Clinton beating McCain with 276 electoral college votes out of 270 needed to win.

That's basically equal to Obama and but again, the main point is that sucks, it's too close for comfort.

While lots of us totally enjoy unloading on HRC or BHO, respectively, the real issue is why aren't either of our preferred candidates doing better, and what can one do to ensure the Democrat wins in the fall.

I thought the main argument against Hillary has been that she has high negatives and can't be elected. This is what Penn is saying about Obama - so what.

Sure you do. You don't say that your fellow party candidate is unqualified to do the job. But saying that they aren't the one who will get the support together to win the general election is normal campaigning. I mean, I think Obama's campaign could just as easily say that about Hillary, and they shouldn't be scolded for it either.

To elaborate: the fundamental no-no in primary campaigning is "Don't say anything that the other party could use against your opponent later." Saying "Democrat X thinks this guy can't win the election" to win isn't really the basis for a good Republican attack; why would voters choosing between D and R care about that? Saying that "Democrat X thinks this guy is unfit for president", on the other hand, could be.

tsm, there's a difference between saying that you think you're the better candidate for the general and saying that your opponent can't possibly win the general. Admittedly this comment is not as bad as the comments about Obama not being fit for commander-in-chief, but it's one in a long line of these awful comments.

Ya know, they would have a lot more to talk about if there were any substantial political differences between them. Unfortunately, there isn't, so we're left with this shit.

It's hilarious that Clinton's advisors are trying to make it sounds as if everything depends on Pennsylvania, that if he can't win Penn then it raises serious doubts. Gimme a break. Nobody expects Obama to win Penn, and it doesn't really matter. Obama would do well to lower expectations as much as possible for that state.

Based on the overwhelming number of anti-Hillary comments I see on this blog and the mounting negative coverage Hillary is getting in the media. I think her ship may be sinking. At least I really, really hope it is
