I bet if those same teachers were expressing views that homosexuality is aberrant behavior, most of these parents wouldn't be complaining.

I respect the desires of some students to stay "neutral", but if they're that adamant about not participating then they should have no problem responding to criticism that they're not taking a stand against discrimination.

No, he shouldn't have been slapped, because that's what we call assaulting another student, but he should have been taken aside and made to turn that inside out, put on another shirt.

Even if the story about the girl dying because she wouldn't denounce god or christ or who ever were true, it still wouldn't count as someone being killed because she was openly christian. She was killed because two crazy people decided to murder their classmates, chirstian or not, the girl would have died.

If Hutch and his ilk want compulsory moments of silence in public schools, they ought to be rejoicing over a whole day of it.

I've formed, along with a couple of others (upon the suggestion of a Snoqualmie Valley School District taxpayer) the nonprofit group Coalition to REALLY Defend Education. This group will be assisting those that want to stop people like Hutcherson and CoDE from attempting to intimidate and harass LGBT students and their community supporters. GLSEN does a great job of advocacy with the kids in school (including the Day of Silence). However there are some of us that feel that GLSEN needs to be supported by those of us that will actively stand up to the hysteria the right wing fringe dishes out. GLSEN's role is education. Our role is to point out the hypocrites and defend the actively stand up to those who twist logic to further their own agendas, such as CoDE. Organizations like CoDE are growing stronger across the country and it's time something is done to further rebut their specious arguments.

We'll have a website up shortly this sets out our plan to help keep these students and the community members that support them safe and come up with methodologies that rebut organizations like CoDE by exposing their true intent.

Y'all already have one whole day devoted to Martin Luther King, Junior. Why do you feel that you need an additional month for black history? I don't get it.
