I love how the pro-war US media isn’t even bothering to try to make their bullshit propaganda and lies remotely believable anymore.

Like earlier this week when they celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War/occupation (4,000 troops dead; 30,000+ wounded; 1,000,000ish civilians dead) by having the courage to interview everyone from psycho-douchebag right wingers who supported the war all along and want more wars to so-called “liberal hawks” who supported the war but not the way its been managed and who also want more wars (helloooo, NYT).

Wow, that’s real diversity of opinion there. Anyone who doesn’t want more war simply doesn’t exist.

Meanwhile, they’re shamelessly pimping the Big Lie that the Surge® worked, while Iraq continues to slide into chaos and General Betrayus proclaims there will be no troop reductions and it’s gonna be war forevah and evah and evah.

For srsly, the sad fact that US news editors and producers have given up and are now openly running articles that are self-contradictory and illogical shows our failed, Pravda-esque media is in its final throes.

Are they just doing a half-assed job or have Americans gotten even more apathetic?

Dan posted about nipple ring gate yesterday. In the comments, I found that the technical word for a prince albert is "apadravya."

I’m with the TSA on this one.
That woman must have known that the tit rings would set of the alarm but she wore them anyway. In order for an efficient and orderly boarding of flights, TSA policy must be observed to the letter. Yes, there are exceptions such as for internal metal (such as hip replacements) but all jewelry that sets off the alarms must be removed. That’s the policy and we as good citizens must observe it.
The real story is why this woman is so psychologically damaged that she must mutilate her nipples for an adornment that most men find repulsive. She wanted to be an exhibitionist and create a scene to make a point of her so-called “individual body rights” – puh-leeze give us a break from this crap! I would feel the same way about a man wearing a cock ring going through security. These people are selfish. They want to hold up the line to make a scene and get in the news. That’s their only reason.

They can have my cockring when they pry it from my cold dead hand. And slip it off my cock.

Raindrop, if women with body mods won't go out with you that's just how it is. Don't have a chip on your shoulder about it.

"Yes, there are exceptions such as for internal metal (such as hip replacements) "

Why? How long until the terrorists have surgery to have bombs implanted in their bodies? I personally think that anybody with internal metal needs a certified doctor's note verifying that a valid medical procedure was performed before boarding.

How does forcing the woman to take out her nipple rings allow for an efficient and orderly boarding of flights? Those TSA employees are petty dictators, and your enabling of them is pathetic.
