Slog - Comments on Meet the New Bags

My wife, Susan, came home with these fun bags handy bags last week. We don't own a car, so grocery shopping is a hassle, made less so in late-2006 when Whole Foods opened in South Lake Union. We both work within a few blocks of this store. I now shop there often, but typically forget to bring my bulky reusable bag. So I'll ask for a plastic bag and feel the guilt. Or sometimes, when I do remember my bag, it will be a purple one from PCC and I'll feel the guilt. Enough! Check out these little guys from...

THANK YOU for finding a link to these bags. I saw them at a health food store in Maui last month and wanted to get a few because I always forget to bring the canvas ones with me when i go to the store, but forgot to buy them before I left. I was really bummed, so I'm glad i can get them online.

@7 - I think the point is you just keep them with you all the time since they're so unbulky, so you don't have to remember. Seems like a good idea to me! If I could get a collapsible travel mug I wouldn't have to use paper cups on the rare occasions I buy coffee out in the world.

sorry about the double post up there. also wanted to mention that if you buy 4 chico bags directly from their website you get a 5th one for free - at $5 a pop that's not bad, plus they have a pretty good selection of colours!

I still prefer to get plastic bags because they are so handy to have around the house for so many tasks, including:

- cleaning the cat box
- lining small waste baskets
- wrapping up produce to stick in the fridge
- putting paint cans in
- keeping socks and underwear confined in your dresser drawer or suitcase
- holding junk mail for later recycling
- keeping in the car as an emergency wastebasket
