2008 McExpertise

onWhile the GOP is banking on dismantling Obama’s strength (symbol of unity) by turning Obama into Rev. Jeremiah Wright (a symbol of the divisive, angry black demagogue), the GOP’s own candidate is having some image problems. McCain’s supposed strength (sonorous, foreign policy expertise) is a bit shaky.
It turns out, the guy is a foreign policy dunderhead. Has everybody been following this?
CNN’s Jack Cafferty bashes McCain for getting “the Shia confused with the Sunni confused with al Qaeda confused with Iran … I mean, what kind of leadership is that? He’s over there talking to foreign dignitaries, and he has no idea who the players are.”

Don't worry, we've just seen the tip of the senior iceberg with McCain. This is going to be a landslide. I predict there will be talk of him stepping down before November.
Please please please just keep Mister Microphone in this man's hand and wait for him to emulate Dole (and maybe even fall off the stage like Bob did) and keep the cameras on him. Constantly.
There's only so much spin the GOP can do until the Lunchpail Voters realize the Republican Nominee just might be the Crazy Old Uncle from the Attic.
Josh, didn't you hear? McCain's gaffe is just proof of his awesome foreign policy expertise.
Josh see the way this works is that the voters in flux are the people that bought into the war, that thought Saddam was involved in 911, that don't know the difference between Sunni and Shia and don't care.
While the image of Obama standing next to a guy screaming god damn America will penetrate, an image of McCain confusing Shia, Sunni and al Qaeda won't.
Right now the Dems shouldn't say anything about McCain's mental weaknesses - wait until he is nominated or he will be eliminated like William Casey
Leave the confused old man alone.
Remember, the Iranians attacked us on 9-11, helped by the Iraqis and the Cylon Deathstar that Sen Clinton built.
And never mind that Osama bin Laden guy we told you about - he's just an old supporter of Barack Obama who lives in Pakistan and advises him on turban selection for his harem.
(this message brought to you by Saudi oil money)
sometimes i wonder what the repubs are thinking. if mccain cannot sharpen his game, he will lose against a dem candidate will is likely to be polarizing.
then again, the average gung-ho war supporter can't tell the difference either. can't tell? i mean, doesn't care.
Dear John McCain: please continue to prove that this is your A-game. If my dope-smoking friends and I know more about the situation in the Middle East than you do, with your "years of foreign policy experience", I feel fairly safe that, come election day, I'll finally feel good for the first time in 12 years.
