At current street prices, a fresh healthy baby gets you about an ounce of BC Primo. However, in the last several months American Babies have been falling in value against the international market, so it may soon fall to two babies per ounce.

Sometimes your kid being a kid, will make you want to sell your kid....

The only reason I father children is to support my pot habit. Sorry, little Hernando, daddy needs another zip of that tasty Alaskan Thunderfuck!

Why are all of you leting the communists and socialists of the United States Senate tell you what you can do with the market? They are effectively stealing from you by taking away your god-given free-market right to sell that which you have produced out of your own labor and maintained with your own money. Down with Congress

see why the drug war is not going to end anytime soon? harkin is a DEMOCRAT. he was born in 1939, meaning that he was in his 20s during the 1960s. he almost certainly smoked out, dropped acid, took speed, and knows his statements to be utter bullshit.

but this is the position of the LIBERAL PARTY in our government. an honest conversation isn't even possible until president obama gets a bully pulpit in 2012.

oh, and if he was in his 30's in the 1970s, he probably snorted coke off the ass of a 22 year old $1000/hour hooker.

So, um, since Canada has the largest number of MJ users in the Western World, how come they sell their kids way less often than we in the US do?

Oh, wait, logic, something you don't see in the Fake Drug War, just like the Fake Iraq War.

I wonder if he means they sell their kids as prostitutes to make money.

*cough form letter cough*

I worked on the Hill in DC. I know those letters backwards and forwards. You do know that some intern probably wrote that, it got passed off to a staffer to look over quickly and was then sent on. The Senator probably doesn't even know what it says.

Max, I see what you're saying, but he'd actually be a bit old to have joined into the weed smokin' revolution of which you speak. He would have probably already finished his military service by the first half of the sixties and wouldn't probably not really have been in tune with the culture that arose in the later half of that decade.

My pops, love him to death, is the exact same age as the Senator and also has some really funny ideas about weed that most people in his generation share.

Obviously:

Harkin is an asshole. Not only for replying via form letter, but for standing behind this kinda bullshit.

Now pardon me while I sell my kid. I'm fresh out of weed, and, well, you know...

I wish I had some kids to sell right about now.

Instead, all I have are a bunch of these worthless dollar bills.

Harkin is not an asshole. Yes, he is weak on his drug positions. But he is strong in almost every other area. @15 - you don't know what you're talking about. Find me one Senator that personally replies to their constituents' letters.

@16 exactly time for the gold standard, and no restrictions on my ability to buy and sell babies

"the police officer’s family which must now learn to cope with the loss of their loved one as a result of a violent drug bust gone awry"

Um, Hello? If drugs weren't illegal this wouldn't happen?

Whoops they made an argument for the other side.

@17: Your totally right. Not one Sentator will ever personally answer your letter from his own hand. I can count the times on my hand that my office actually had to come up with a semi-personal letter for a constituent. Mostly, however, in those cases - we copied and pasted from form letters in the database - then edited them to suit.

@22:

cut & pasted form letter response = we don't have time to care what you have to say.

we need like 20 senators/state.

a study in NYC hows that weed is 4x as accesible to minors as beer. Making weed illegal makes it more accesible to kids.
