Comments on Jay Leno Is Such a Tool

God, I've disliked Leno for about the past 8 years. He should have been replaced in the early 90's. Can't wait for Conan!! And, ummmm.... Ryan Phillipe is hotter in person than in any movie.

I'm not a Phillipe fan, (I have issues with talentless petulance), but Leno is such a fucking hack. He was kind of funny for about 20 minutes in 1984 when he'd go on Letterman in a ratty t-shirt and leather jacket and riff on pop culture shit. The Tonight Show ruined what little talent he had.

Leno is obsessed with homos. Whenever a public figure goes to jail he makes joke about prison rape. He has a formulaic gay put down joke in almost every monolgue. His other obsession is Hillary Clinton. He is happiest when he can make joke about both.

Oh my word, what a douchebag. Phillippe did pretty darn well there, I thought, but Leno was unbelievably idiotic. I mean, you've got all the easy soap-opera star jokes at your fingertips and all you can come up with is OMG TEH GAY LOLZ!!!1!!

Kinda off topic alert-

Did anyone else see Lost last night and think the attempt at a gay character was slightly offensive? There are a myriad if reasons why it was a pathetic attempt to address a gay audience, but I haven't seen anyone comment on it...

@11: A couple of seasons ago there was a scene with Tom (last night's gay) and Kate. Kate didn't want to change clothes with Tom in the room, and he was like, "Seriously, you're not my type," alluding to the fact that he's gay. Last night we saw about 2 seconds of confirmation that, yup, that guy's gay. Not sure what was offensive about it...

@12 Here's a list:

-They're "edgy" enough to take one of the burliest guys on the show & make him gay, but they give him the young foreign circuit boy boyfriend... how original.

-He's suddenly adopted a look consisting of gawdy bling and cloths straight out of The Bird Cage, yet on the island he is a wilderness & hunting expert.

-The ONLY gay character is minor, evil, and most importantly, dead (so they won't have to delve further into his character beyond mild innuendo)

-Long camera shots of the look of absolute repulsion Michael gives him, which happens to start right around the time Tom's lover kisses him on the cheek.
