It’s Raining McCain

posted by on March 22 at 9:33 AM

This is so… gay.

I don’t know what hurt the most. The, er, “singing,” the floating head of John McCain, or the inexcusable appropriation of an early gay disco anthem in the service an anti-gay GOP candidate.

Dan Savage took te same stand on the invasion of Iraq as John McCain and now has tunes against him. Hmmmmmmm! Here's a bit of what Dan wrote when he was calling for WAR ON IRAQ!

"The War on Iraq will make it clear to our friends and enemies in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that we mean business: Free your people, reform your societies, liberalize, and democratize... or we're going to come over there, remove you from power, free your people, and reform your societies for ourselves."

John McCain is not anti-gay, he's just a Federalist.

I allowed myself 57 seconds of torture. This version is worse than the rendition by the local Seattle gay boy chorus in the spring of '07.

That's bigger than Will.I.Am's "Yes We Can" video, with production values to match.

I don't see how John McCain, with that kind of talent lined up behind him, can possibly be stopped.

They're sure to be invited to the GOP convention, to perform at the podium during prime time.

I've read in an article somewhere that the organ player on the karaoke tape used has already called McCain headquarters demanding they not use that rendition, since the organ player remains a Huckabee supporter.

Were those volunteers, or paid model/singers? Because I think if they were paid model/singers, that has to be included as a campaign donation.

Okay I'll stop now.

Just because you watched it doesn't mean we all want to watch it, Dan.

Cheer up, watch some West Wing episodes. I recommend the episode where Bartlett tells his GOP Challenger "And if you are wondering it was at 'Gee, crime I just don't know' is the point I decided to kick your ass"

McCain is Govenor Richie
Obama is Bartlet

"This is so… gay." ?
Uh, Dan -- what junior high school kid taught you to say that? This isn't "gay" in any of the accepted senses. It's not "gay" and it's not lame. This is just plain fucking embarrassing.

Holy shit, I'm going to have to get a new Slog name.

The "singing" hurt the most, no question. I can't believe I made it to 1:41. ugh.

That woman splashing her face with two tiny John McCains made the whole thing worth it.
