A friend in Florida stayed up late last night to watch the shuttle launch-- she said she lives 50+ miles away, but it still scares the shit out of her dogs, and lights up the sky. While I generally hate Florida, that would be pretty awesome.

On the list of parallel lives I am to be living simultaneously, one of them is Shuttle commander. Fuck long hauls in space; taking off and landing would be just peachy, thanks.
