“He’s the Most Singinest Janitor I Ever Seen”

posted by on March 10 at 10:40 AM

These folks decided to stage a musical number in a mall food court. Though I’m generally annoyed by audience-participation things, especially when the audience doesn’t realize they’re participating, I’m kind of delighted by both the performance and the annoyed looks on some of the food court patrons’ faces.

I think people hide behind contempt and disdain when they don't know what reaction is expected of them a lot of the time.

Sidebar: I've always wanted a musical-style number to produce itself in front of my eyes within the humdrum of boring life moments. I would've been beside myself giddy had I been there to witness that.

I LOVE Improv Everywhere! The "cell phone symphony" one they pulled in the bookstore was brilliant:

How come people spontaneously bursting out in song sucks when it happens in the movies, but is totally rad in real life?

Prangstgrup did it better.
Because they could, y'know, sing.
And the music didn't, y'know, suck.
