California had early voting, so many people cast their ballots long before Obama started rising in the polls.

It's still way too early...but there is an extreme arrogance I've never witnessed before by some so-called progressives that is turning off a lot of people who would normally identify as progressive, like...um...ME. Independents who were impressed by Obama are sick of the holier-than-thou mudslingling and probably switching to the other side.

McCain will be our next prez if people don't start checking their egos, stop bickering and face the reality that the popular vote means nothing without Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. Clinton has a much better chance against McCain than Obama does in a matchup in all 3 states. She leads McCain in Ohio now. Experience, voting records and policy positions are irrelevant at this stage of the game. And politics is all a numbers game, unfortunately. Did we not learn anything from '00 and '04?!?

And, it's in these states, in this game, I believe, Clinton has the better hand.

Hillary, well, lets just say she's a little lefter, and a lot angrier than McCain, but I don't think she's offering much that will gain my vote.

I am disturbed by many of his supporter's tendency to refer to the middle class as "six pack joe" and "Archie Bunker types" As though you had to be prefer a nice Pinot Noir, be of mixed race, and at least have questions about your sexual preferences to have a valid opinion.

My experience has been that "six pack joe" is usually well informed about the issues and tends to be more conservative in his thinking, not stupid, or even apathetic, just with different concerns. If it makes you feel better, blame the beer, but that kind of ignorant, condescending crap isn't getting us anywhere.
