once the OKC Sonics start playing, all their coloful local sports will disappear.
gay or straght
right wing or left wing
cowboy,hipster or 'hippie"
...oklahomans scare me
there just creepy, it's something thats been stagnating in there gene pool m,aybe...anyone who's been to oklahoma or central california will know what I'm talking about
Yeah, but I'll bet many of them know the difference between they're, their and there...
perhapes...maybe oral roberts and pat robertson do as well....go have a grammer party with them
great, now I have another blog to obsess over.
I imagine the gay scene in OKC is a lot like that of The STL. Fine in the urban archipeligo, but not cool anywhere 15 minutes outside the city.
both Oklahoma and Texas are fagtastic...huge, social gay communities...Oklahoma CITY used to have this huge gay complex complete with a gay motel that was a notorious sex pit.
that said, I find it difficult to believe there are that many streets in Oklahoma City where it's safe to walk hand in hand with your same sex partner in broad daylight...I wouldn't feel that safe doing that in Seattle outside DT/Capitol Hill/Wallingford/Fremont/Ballard.
Hey Michael,
We still have it - it's the Habana Inn, and yes, it's still a sex pit. There are two popular clubs located onsite: the Finishline, and the Copa. http://www.habanainn.com/
Angles, The Park, the Phoenix, the Boom, and Partners are located nearby.
I might push the envelope by holding hands with my boyfriend as often as I do around town - but no problems so far...Then again, I tend only to hang out in a relatively small area of the 650 sq. miles the city encompasses.
As @5 mentioned, outside of the urban archipelago, there is not much of a scene to speak of, much like St. Louis, Kansas City, etc. Regionally, Dallas has the biggest scene and the largest gay community by far in my experience.
@6: you could get away with it in view ridge. no one who'd fag bash could afford to live there.
I just clicked on that website for the Habana Inn and had scary flashbacks of my days in the midwest.
And if I still lived back that way, I'd be proud to take my family to Gushers for the the best prime rib in OK City.
