I imagine the gay scene in OKC is a lot like that of The STL. Fine in the urban archipeligo, but not cool anywhere 15 minutes outside the city.

that said, I find it difficult to believe there are that many streets in Oklahoma City where it's safe to walk hand in hand with your same sex partner in broad daylight...I wouldn't feel that safe doing that in Seattle outside DT/Capitol Hill/Wallingford/Fremont/Ballard.

Angles, The Park, the Phoenix, the Boom, and Partners are located nearby.

I might push the envelope by holding hands with my boyfriend as often as I do around town - but no problems so far...Then again, I tend only to hang out in a relatively small area of the 650 sq. miles the city encompasses.

As @5 mentioned, outside of the urban archipelago, there is not much of a scene to speak of, much like St. Louis, Kansas City, etc. Regionally, Dallas has the biggest scene and the largest gay community by far in my experience.
