Damn you, Schmader...you're the one who's making me have to wait to get those Netflix discs! Way-behind -the-curve is the new bleeding edge!
Herc? Herc?!
I've made my way up to Season 4 since starting the series in January. I've been desperate for others on the same cycle to talk to about the show — one of the drawbacks of asynchronous viewing habits, especially of great shows.
McNulty is hot, of course. But Herc? Really? I've got a crush on Cutty (3rd season). And was just treated to nice full-frontal of Omar in an early fourth season episode.
It just keeps getting better & better...
We just finished watching episode 6, too. Awesome. And you're right. That guy in the picture's cute.
My crushes range from season to season. Carver's pretty dreamy right now, but McNulty is the only constant.
Your infatuation with Herc will wane as the series progresses, trust.
News flash - torture doesn't really work.
Just thought you might like to know that.
Only in Seattle do you get a columnist drooling over the lily white portion of a cast that includes J.D. Williams and Kwame Patterson.
I'm also up to season 4 and want to issue a warning to be careful of privileged and ignorant journalists who seem to think that all viewers watch in real time and insist (twice, that I've seen) on revealing the fate of favorite characters in the final season. Once the detail wasn't buried in a review, but prominently pictured as an obituary. FUCK!And what about Bunk, maybe not hot - but pretty damn funny.
West also plays the scarred face assasin Jigsaw in the new Punisher:War Zone movie with the dude from ROME out this fall! It is directed by a woman who is the German Karate champ. Boo-ya!
Amy Ryan is a stone fox.
Herc definitely starts packin' a sizeable butterball around mid-season 3.
11: Yeah, trolling around for Herc pics I found some that portend a less-attractive future.
But in Season One, he's a Sluggo-tastic dreamboat....
Fuck The Sopranos, The Wire FTW! Cienna and I are halfway through Season 3 and hooked like corner prowling junkies! Excellent writing, great characters, and a deeply political scene; all in a show that (refreshingly) assumes its audience isn't completely retarded. respect.
Our votes for Wire Sexpots: McNulty, Lt. Daniels, Lester, Kiema (sp?), and O-(is that scar for fucking real!?)-mar.
I'd do Sgt. Landsman.
Yep, good show. And they didn't even really jump the shark until season 5.
McNulty is a douchebag, though.
McNulty hot? What, Omar hasn't shown up in the episodes that you have watched yet?
@13
the scar IS for real...
Carver is the super-hot one on that force! And he just gets better and better ...I cannot wait until Season 5 comes out on DVD.

@11: Damn it, you beat me to it!
Damn it, I meant @10!
You're all fucking high.
Stringer Bell is the most attractive man on that show. further the show has gone out of it's way to cast people that aren't overtly attractive and yet all of yall are putting the characters on that pedestal anyway.
Also, Schmader, I don't know if Oz ever floated your boat, but a whole bunch of The Wire cast passed through that show, Herc included.
i won't let my boyfriend rent the latest season of the wire, though he desperately wants to, because i'm in school. if we rent it while i'm in school, there will be no way i will finish my important, expensive undergraduate degree. my good friend jane and i decided this show was The. Best. Cop. Show. EVER. in the episode where mcnulty and bunk spend a good ten minutes communicating using only variations of the word 'fuck'. also, fun facts: not only is michael k. 'omar' williams an alum of the unintentionally genius 'trapped in the closet' hip-hop opera, he's also the brother of one mr. saul 'slam' williams. so there you go.
McNulty's delivery of "What the fuck did I do?" is one of many favorites of the series - it is just an awesome show.
Herc? No. Carver? cute but dumb.
Stringer Bell? OK.
But Lt. Daniels is is the big surprise!
Word to #7
LOTS of awesome (and beautiful) brothers on that show.
My girlfriend and I have been making our way through the seasons. Sadly our DVD player died last week as we were in season 3. Needless to say we are bereft.
If y'all love the Wire, I highly recommend Homicide. I've alwys said that Homicide was the best program ever made for television. It's not quite the Wire but its top notch, from some of the same people, features Baltimore and has some of the same actors in it (albeit in different roles).
