Translation: GWB ordered him, while Traitor Dick Cheney, the outer of undercover CIA operatives, forced him, to bomb Iran.

The Admiral basically told him to take a flying leap and get Congress to declare War, instead.

Good move, Admiral!

Your country thanks you!

Comment by Weimar Republican

Not since Viet Nam has there been such an exodus of military executive staff. The trouble is that now we have a really power mad president and his advisors in office, then it was LBJ and Nixon, both of whom actually believed in the separation of powers, as little as they may have liked it. Once all of the senior military staff who have scruples are gone the super far-right junior staff can be promoted to oversee the "national emergency" that will result in the suspension of the constitution and the postponement of the election. After that, it's President-for-Life Dubya. Maybe the goal of sealing the borders is to keep us in, not keep others out.

Comment by Mr. Joshua

Hmm...adverb or adjective, and one makes you dishonest. If he ALLEDGEDLY quit over a policy rift with Iran, it appears there is disagreement with the administration.

He quit over an ALLEGED rift in policy. Someone put words in his mouth and it made it impossible to do his job.

In other words, he quit over stories like this, which distort his views.

"I don't believe there have ever been any differences about the objectives of our policy in the Central Command area of responsibility," Fallon said, and he regretted "the simple perception that there is." He was in Iraq when he made the statement.

It's like you're hoping to get in a jab at the Bush administration for those of us who don't read carefully.

The nice thing about not "alleging" something is if they sue you, it makes even more of a media storm and the resulting media attention proves your underlying point.

This is why people should say Bush LIED. Because he did.

I like the idea of the alleged dispute gamming up the work. The thing of it is that if it's not his views why whould it cause problems? Also what was the adminstration pushing that would have caused a rift?
