Yay! I'm not sure what art I'm going to do yet (Big Fuckin' Hands or naked ladies might not pass through the committee processes) but I'll come up with something with my signature feel-good flair. She's bringing some amazing stuff to the stations, such as Mike Ross (of the "Big Rig Jig"." She's a prime mover behind the new Roosevelt Skate Park and was one of the people most responsible for the creation of the Fremont Troll. She's definitely an unsung local hero.

A lot of surprisingly cool and very local art has made its way into SeaTac over the last couple years. Hell, someone at the airport has installed portraits by Annie Grgich, sculptures by Shawn Nordfors, ceramics by Eric Nelsen, all of them young and powerful local artists who (except for minor temporary exhibits) aren't represented ANYWHERE ELSE in this entire city. Plus there's permanent things like the Robert Rauschenberg installation or the big painting by Frank Stella, which are also the only examples in the region.

Yeah, the talking fountains are silly and the endless celebrations of Pilchuck glass are long stale, but for an airport, SeaTac is way above the curve.
