Here's the backstory:
"She has previously described how she "slid under the table" with laughter in 1997 following and item about the head of Papua New Guinea's armed forces, Major General Jack Tuat."
@2: I'd laugh my way through a story about "Major General Jack Tuat" followed by a sperm whale story too. That's just too good.
I think it's rad that she can admit she has a "ribald" sense of humor. Can you imagine Katie Couric coming out and saying she likes a good dick joke?
That gave me the giggles.
I have gotten the giggles at many inappropriate times like at my grandmother's funeral and in the middle of singing O Holy Night at a Christmas festival in front of a lot of people.
The guy who whispered about bees in her ear, knowing what was likely to happen, is the guilty party here.
Life imitates art: this was the very premise of the much lauded "Chuckles Bites the Dust" episode of the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" back in the 1970's, with Mary's breaking her vow of solemnity during the eulogy for Chuckles the clown (crushed by an elephant while dressed as a peanut) and breaking into uncontrollable giggles.
