Comment by Jubilation T. Cornball

A painter/photographer produces a photograph of a painter/photographer.

Is this a great photograph? Or a good photograph of a great photographer? Is the value of this photo in the name of its maker, or its subject, or in some actual artistry of construction and realization?

New York City is a small town in some ways. Pictures of famous people are hard for me to appreciate without a difficult conversation about why I like these pictures: I think People, Hello! and US magazines have eaten holes in my soul.

i know what you mean, jubilation t. in this case, i think there are some really great ones in the batch. i seem to recall that they were done with long exposures forcing each sitter to sit still for a little while.

hey -- remember that drink proposal?

Remarkably engaging for digital, I always prefer classic "dark room" photography for its hues and depth - but this is good.

This quote is hilarious considering this series by Chuck Close is daguerreotypes. Digital prints of daguerreotypes.

Seattle is a small ignorant town in love with itself.

Recommence self-absorbed Flickr bloviating.
