Somehow the song "Message in a Bottle" by the Police is running thru my head right now.

Good. On the one hand, high schoolers shouldn't be using steroids. On the other hand, get a fucking warrant, pigs.

Excellent news. As a former high school athlete/stoner, the threat of random urine testing made every track season a mildly-harrowing experience. I mean hey, what's wrong with toking up to celebrate making the varsity team?

Keep in mind that this must have been a ruling under the STATE constitution. The U.S. Supreme Court already has said that random testing of students involved in any extra-curricular activity is permissible under the federal constitution.

I suppose my feelings about this depend on whether they're testing for recreational drugs or steroids. I don't think the government (or anyone else, for that matter) has any business knowing what recreational drugs aqe in someone's system. Steroids, though - well, that's a different matter, particularly with athletes.

I agree with Greg @2.

Get a warrant - or bug off.

And the US Supremes should be airdropped into Iran for a few weeks, and then they can walk out.

Warrants are so pre-Bush.
