Scouts and Girl Guides are open to pre-marital sex, drugs and gay experiences, according to a new survey. More than 2,500 Scouts from across Europe, aged between 16 and 22, were questioned by researchers as they attended a convention in Italy.The results might have surprised Lord Baden-Powell, who founded the Scouting and Guiding movement more than a century ago.
One quarter of the girls and 12 per cent of the boys said they would consider a same-sex experience. Some Scout associations around the world bar homosexuals from their ranks although this is not the case in Britain. More than 80 per cent of those questioned said they were happy to get drunk and almost half said they would smoke marijuana if offered.

I don't remember anything like this from scouts. I do remember a lot of camping in the rain and doing RPGs.

The first time I got drunk and smoked a cigarette was on a scout camp, all under the influence of an older girl who was my first lesbian crush. Scouts was fun.
I was an Eagle Scout in the 80s and the first time I got drunk, got stoned, and did acid were all on scout campouts. Unfortunately I never saw or heard of any gay stuff happening though.

Given that Lord Baden-Powell was a notorious pederast, I doubt he would have been surprised at all, except perhaps by the very existence of "girl scouts."

No drugs in my Scouting experience, but I did lose my virginity to a fellow troop member.
