please watch the sexist remarks when pointing out how ferraro was racist, incorrect, and unapologetic in this matter. they are not necessary, distract the issue, invalidate your critique, and diminish any positive changes this could have on the present campaign.

This whole episode is so very calculated to stir up the voters in PA. I grew up in pittsburgh and let me tell you the racism runs DEEP there. Guaranteed this is solely to stir up that enormous group who think the black guy is taking all the benefits and getting the easy breaks. Shutdown all the industry in the area over the last 30 years and they gotta blame someone. Since there are few Mexicans there the blacks will suffice. I am hating the Clinton candidacy. Ferraro is a disgrace!

Ferraro made a bad decision by saying that in a public forum worded in the manner that it was, even if the quotes most everyone is basing their opinion on are taken out of context. But the accusations of racism directed towards her are absurd. Look at her record on civil rights then eat crow.

It's entirely possible to fight for civil rights and still be an idiot on racism. Case in point: my father who loved to boast about marching from Selma to Montgomery, but who held plenty of racist opinions. His position on Rodney King would make any rational person weep.

@28, I agree that people's actions can sometimes conflict with some of their beliefs. But I also think that many anti-racist and anti-sexist people can be as guilty of not logically considering all sides of an issue as the worst evangelical right wing Republican. What was your father's and what is your view about the riots resulting from the Rodney King incident? As a person who was attacked because of my skin color on that awful evening, I would be very interested in hearing about it.
