@1: Sloggers are pretty friendly in real life. If you're not trying to be ignored, you won't be. Though that's true of most bars. Who'd have thought the sitting-quietly-by-yourself-not-making-eye-contact technique doesn't lead to engaging conversation?

The Southwest Design Review Board meeting that was scheduled for this night was canceled - guess I'm freed up.

I wish I could be there, since I had fun at the first one but missed the last one. However, it is Valentine's day, so I'll be somewhere else, getting laid.

@1 Do something crazy then you wont be ignored.

I live by the town of Tequila. I could send you a big Mexican Sombrero to wear and bottle of Tequila. Nobody will ignore you if you have a big bottle of Tequila in your hands.

Nametags, sadly, help.

But the main thing is to go and be friendly.

The amusing thing is the whole Obama/Clinton rivalry thing disappears when you're in person talking with someone. Especially if she's in a cute pink dress ...

Note to girl in cute pink dress: if you're talking to Will, make sure you're in a place where other people can see you, and let your friends know where you are.

Verdammte Scheisse, I'm still in Hamburg, and will miss the festivities. The last SLOGfest was fun, this one will be at least as good.

Just go and watch Original Monique forget to eat before she pounds 5 beers. She's small, and she gets exponentially louder as she gets drunk. It's greatly entertaining.

I tend to get drunk and pull on my weiner in public places on VD, so I won't be attending. Look for me behind the 3rd tree on the west side of greenlake

I tend to get drunk and pull on my weiner in public places on VD. As I like most of you I will not put you through this fresh hell. Look for me behind the third pine tree on the west side of green lake. I will be the person with no pants and a box of mountain chablis wine.

@14, 15: It sounds like you'd be safer at Moe Bar. We want to help you.

Uh, you can help him with the weiner thing. I'll handle the box of Mountain Chablis.

You bring the ladder, Mr. Poe, I'll bring the big "P".

I'm an unreconstructed Clintonista and doubt a meet-up would be useful. How will I recognize you - pink carnation, flushed leer, clear drool?

Would you guys kick my ass, like others threatened before, if I come again?

Girl in the pink dress- where were you the last two times when I had all my Clinton gear on? Last week it was just ECB and me cheering when HRC took California...

How will you spot Will in Seattle? He's the one who looks *exactly* as you imagine he would. :^)

Not gonna be there Thursday. No babysitter, etc, etc, etc. March.

the girl in the pink dress is Aislinn, and it sounds to me like she will be less safe at Moe Bar after reading the comments. at least from lechy dudes flirting all night.

man, you guys are such pervs sometimes.

@19

I'd consider it, but I'd much rather you bring both--as well as do it. When you're done, I'll let you buy me a drink!

Posted by Mr. Poe | February 12, 2008 2:43 PM
27

No, Mr. Poe, I like other people to do the work, and me to do the drinking.

Greg - I'm the original "girl in the pink dress," but I didn't post that comment above. And, just for you, I linked to my myspace. If you show up on Thursday, you can tell me which is cuter - it or me.

God damned sock puppetry. I call out #23 and #25 as an impostor. Until you've had your leg humped by Mr. Poe, stay the hell away from my handle.

Also, I will not be at Moe Bar on Thursday. I have a date with my fiancee that night. I will hang with you rejects in March.

and Aislinn, if I make it out there I'll let you know. things are leaning in your favor, so unless the dress is really cute my bet is you will be the cutest.

I have completed all necessary work-related tasks that have kept me constrained for the past month.

So I might go.

Man, good thing there aren't any other Aislinns that Slog. Not that "Greg" was a particularly original handle, Original Greg.

Greg P: Thank you. I'm glad we could settle this without coming to blows.

@27

Fine. Bring the giant P. I'll have a ladder, which I won't need to bring, because you will be my ladder, and afterwards we will order drinks and totally not pay for them. This is called foreign policy/celebration.
