This Durkan person breaks all the rules. First, she supports a Republican for KC Prosecuter and then doesn't support an extremely viable, highly-qualified woman for President.

It sounds to me like Obama is the new Establishment candidate and Hillary Clinton is the the underdog. Never saw that coming.

Q: did Slog even mention that Patty Murray endorsed, too?

holy shit, someone I have never heard of is going to vote for Obama after showing the bad political sense to back a loser twice.

I MUST follow this wise person.

Hive we ever voted for this Jenny Durkan, or is because her Grand Daddy was a power back in old days? (Martin Durkan)

The Stranger is sinking into the establishment political talking head game.

It is a gunk filled place, with know nothings who pretend to know it all.

And a lot about who gets money from contracts if their friend gets in office. (contract attorney fees at mega bucks per minute)

Duh.....

Well, you see, Obama permits you to cleanse yourself of your GOP-supporting former ways, whereas Clinton is all about vengeance.

It's like Iraq where they still oppress the Sunnis who were Baath party. In general it's not good to give people no opportunity to escape - they just fight harder and cause more damage. (Sun Tzu)

Exactly. How can you say she breaks all the rules, #3, and then say her endorsement of Obama means he's the establishment candidate?

@3,

So that means Edwards was the old establishment candidate since Durkan supported him?

Not everyone is as crazy about Edwards as I am, but I was very firmly behind his run for the top office. I loved what he had to say. Now I'm in a complete quandary over whom to support. I like Barack....mostly, and I like Hillary....mostly.

I don't want to be so totally self-absorbed as to vote for someone on issues that pertain only to me. After 8 years of some pretty serious national unhappiness, I want to support the person who is going to do us all some good.

And know what else? The debates aren't helping me resolve my dilemma. That's just showbiz.

@9, I'm with you. I have always liked John Edwards and what he had to say. Now I'll be over the moon happy to see a D, any D, in the White House, but I just don't feel strongly about either Clinton or Obama and the debates haven't moved me in any direction, except that I miss Edwards more than ever.

Edwards supporters, myself included, had a bad week. There has been a deluge of emails arguing whether or not to go Uncommitted or not.
I will caucus for Obama. Dude has that charisma working for him. What is more he could break the Republicans Nixon hold on the South.

can we all just stop sniping and elect a god-damned Democrat so we can start sniping about how he or she let us down? or am i getting ahead of myself?

Who is this Patty Murray, of whom you speak?

Jenny Durkan: trying to go 0 for 3.

She has a long way to go to catch up with my favorite politcal operative, Donna Brazile: Carter '80, Jackson '84, Mondale '84, Gephardt '88, Dukakis '88, and then Gore's campaign manager in '00. Now *THERE'S* a political antenna. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

If people who don't stand for anything like Jenny Durkan are defecting to Obama (Love 'ya John and Liz--don't let the door hit you), I guess this means he's now the clear frontrunner. She's still not a real Democrat, given her role as Satterberg's sidekick, but her checks will cash, I guess. Congrats to the Obama campaign for picking up another straggler.

Here's the truth as I see it:
John Edwards was by far the best candidate and the media would not give him any limelight. The Stranger was included in this - Dan Savage was calling for him to drop out of the race well before it was time.
So now we have to choose between the other two, who both have some great merits but neither hold a candle to Edwards.
Less just keep our fingers crossed that the winner is wise enough to pick him up as VP.
