City Victrola (Apparently) Sold

onSo says Seattlest.
So we hear that Chris and Jen, founders and owners of Victrola Coffee, have sold “Capitol Hill’s living room” to a new guy, an established independent coffee entrepreneur, whom we believe is Dan Ollis of the Whidbey Coffee Co….The sale is not all that surprising, given that the development of Victrola’s roasting operation meant there were really three businesses to manage, one wholesale operation and two bustling retail locations. It was a long, long way from the tiny little shop Victrola was when it opened.

Now take us off your Enemies of Slog list.
It's a fact. People who have iPhones are better than those who don't.
Cool, I'm reading this and posting this comment from MY iPhone.
It's an honor just to be nominated, Katelyn.
That's true, I get a little rush when I see it listed there. Right there with "Girl About Town."
Welcome to Obama World, ECB, where everyone smiles and has an iPhone. (Read & sent from *my* iPhone!)
I'm still trying to figure out how ECB managed to get that whole blockquote in using an iPhone, there is no cut and paste feature that I know, was it retyped ?
I think she edited the post once she got to her Mac. Google Reader doesn't show the blockquote.
I added the blockquote, because I have the experience to make change.
Snort.
Could I get that in ones, please?
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
coffee was so so
neo cons to defacate upon
a gold digger slut to expose, running for pres.
Victrola? Too snooty. iPhone? Too snooty. Sullivan? Tool.
Oh, wait...
Whatever on all that, Victrola was great - especially the early years - and took a street and turned it into a neighborhood. Wonderful people running it, and great coffee. If you have to live in Seattle, it was a damn good thing to have around.
"I Saw U"...at the Obama Rally taking pics with your iPhone. Call me. :p
Victrola will always be remembered as the store that dared to turn Wi-Fi off on weekends to restore an atmosphere of conviviality.
When is Hillary gonna save the day?

When she gives the best Unity Speech in the history of the US and goes on tour to campaign strongly with her supporters for the Dem. ticket.
Then, she becomes a political legend and the most powerful woamsn political leader in America from her new role as CROWNED KING/QUEEN/EMPEROR/EMPERESS of the US Senate for life.
You all need to pay attention BEYOND THE SURFACE, this contest has re invented the Democratic party for 50 years if played correctly.
Hillary, by the obvious way, has more sway over her supporters than Barrak Obama. ThEY will follow her if she marches into the cold ocean off New York.
Obama supporters are not tested in the big time, hard and ugly campaign looming. I am feeling some of them will burn out early, short attention spans and politics is not for everybody.
Mc Cain will be outspent three to one - there is 500 million dollars waiting for Obama.
ForeigN money will seep into the useating of Bush and Co. Every non AmericaN I have talked to in the past year would gladly donate to get rid of the neo cons.
GET READY -- you too Ecc. Go register all your old clients, family, friends, co-workers. And, get ready to send big checks.

please face reality. HRC is a DLC hack, an imperialist hawk, and most importantly and fortunately - she's losing.
ps: the victrola is the best coffee shop in seattle.

Well all that might be well and good - BUT - the bigger issue is beating BUSH-McCain.
Or are we just so damn sure we are right that winning is not important.
I am under the impression that this race has bee very close - neck and neck in most states - and that does mean the Hillary folks are needed, right? Or you all gonna do it all by your selves? Sure?
Getting Obama nominated is one thing - elected, another.
Please face THAT reality. When McCain starts two more wars should be fun to relive the fight between the Dems and their friends over Hillary and all that.
Not for me. I will start with a Dem. victory and PUSH like hell to the left.
Peace
From Sean Nelson's (excellent) 2002 story:
"We don't really have a desire to open up a lot of stores, to tell you the truth," says Chris Sharp. "Maybe one other, but.... We like what we do right now, and it's important to kind of keep that focus. To stay with Victrola. We'll probably roast our own coffee, and maybe model ourselves after either [Espresso] Vivace or Lighthouse [Roasters] in that way. But it's not like we want to have this chain spreading out everywhere. And also I think that if we had, like, five shops, it would be Jen and Chris, the CEOs, sitting behind a desk. We like being behind the bar and talking to people. That's why we did it. There's already so much paperwork.... Our idea for Victrola is to focus on our neighborhood, because we love it here. Just right here. It's not about putting up a lot of shops. We just want to be Victrola, and that's our main concern."

god what is all the cult stuff about? Sounds like a trip to Lourdes without the healings, coffee at Victrola
they serve good coffee, nice place
they make a LOT of money, generous profit margins, all cool
does this guy have a big dick that all Stranger staffers get to suck or what?
really folks, flavored water brewed from ground beans, been here for hundreds of years
(And by the way, I come from a family of coffee fanatics for generations. THE best coffee is brewed at HOME by these fanatics, trust me. Granny was from Sweden and - GOD - could she brew great coffee.... and a dozen variations.)
Good! Maybe now their drip coffee won't be so watery.....
Who cares. Victrola is the most over-hyped coffee shop in town.
Victrola is almost as bad as Zoka. Great coffee, but I'm always instantly annoyed at the clientele and seating the minute I walk in. Not my idea of a great cafe. Original Vivace and Bauhaus still have tops for atmosphere and comfort, and they're just as busy
