Probably unstable, so it might be a good idea to, you know, have it properly disposed of before you hurt somebody.

If it's already been used how is it unstable?

I'm very glad that says "cleaning up" and not "cleaning out."

I just cut off my penis.

Cool! I still have about four gas masks in my office from that era....

I still remember the cover which featured that can. what days those were.

I had assumed it was unused, because I couldn't imagine why anyone would keep a used one sitting around their office...oh, never mind.

Hit that shit!

If it's unused, save it for the first Nader in '08 rally that comes to Seattle.

You'll need some sort of tourniquet to stop the bleeding, Poe.

If you took too much, you might have to cauterize, instead.

I remember kicking one of those back at the cops right as it went off. Good times!

I still pull out the photos of being tear-gassed and fondly look back to that time when we changed everything. That protest really cemented the idea in me that protests work.

@12: Try 1999.

Stick it on top of your TV when you toss that on the roadside in 2008.

That years' office Christmas cards had me in a gas mask, carrying presents and a wreath in front of the Westlake Carousel.

Ah memories! Fuckers tear-gassed me twice.

And that goes for you too, Mr. Poe - all hazardous wastes should just be tossed if the city won't do a free hazardous waste pick up day.

Napoleon, I need help. I'm bleeding to death and all I have is a gun and a rubber stamp that says "FAXED". How do I solve this puzzle?!

Oh, W.T.O., what exciting times you were. Totally the craziest our fair city has ever been.

Don't ask me--I know a job for McGuyver when I see one...

Mr. Poe -- quick! The fuser in the fax machine will cauterize the wound! Then, pin a note to a pit bull, and toss your penis out the window -- when he runs out to chase it, people will see the note.

Good point! And you can find a pit bull by waving the gun around and making gang signs.

Because you know, pit-bulls are attracted to thugs.

Damn I was in middle school when that went down.

If it was still good I would think you would keep it around to throw at Dan.

If it's heavy enough, I'd keep it around to throw at Dan anyway.

Ebay it! I heard those historical cannisters go for a pretty penny.

Afterwards I drafted a Tear Gas Moratorium for the City.

Never went anywhere, unfortunately.

Toxicity of CN
Although CS has been the most widely used and well studied of the tear gas agents, other agents are still available. Of particular importance is CN, which is still being produced in the United States (39) and was reported to have been used in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (Jerusalem Post, May 6, 1988:1). (8,40). w- Chloroacetophenone is generally acknowledged to be of greater toxicity than CS, being more likely to cause permanent corneal damage on contact with the eye (19) and primary and allergic contact dermatitis. (41,42). The maximum safe inhaled dose has been estimated to be several times lower than than of CS (3) and at least five deaths have been reported following the use of CN grenades in confined spaces (2,43,44). Little is known regarding its potential for chronic pulmonary or genotoxic effects or for potentional effects on reproduction.

fun fun. click my name for report link.

@13: Actually the WTO protests did work. Not only did they alert the rest of the world that Americans will actually stand up and fuck shit up when necessary, but the resistance in the streets helped the delegates inside resist the power plays by the US-Canada-UK. It was a very successful protest.
